They say you have to get right back on the horse...but writing is a scary horse - large and fire-breathing I've heard. Here goes nothing...

Title: The End of All Paths
Rating: PG
Characters: Anyanka
Set: Pre-Series
Hundreds of years and humans all thought they were so unique.
True - some cried, some raged and some were eerily calm. There were a few had to be guided, encouraged perhaps, but most were tediously eager to put their darkest wishes into words.
Hundreds of years and humans were all so alike. Every one of them thought their tale was something new.
No matter. It was she who was the end of all paths.
Their eyes would widen at her true face and always there was the same flicker of regret.
That moment was like honey on her tongue.
END.
Title: Ta-Da!
Rating: PG
Characters: The Whole Gang
Set: Season 7
Andrew waited until everyone was paying attention before removing the cover from the dish with a flourish. "Ta-DA!"
Absolute silence wasn't quite the reaction he was hoping for.
Buffy looked confused. "Um…what is it?"
One of the Baby Slayers poked at it. "Are those…mini-marshmallows?"
"Looks like dog vomit," Faith offered.
"Guys, it's ambrosia," Andrew explained, drawing out the syllables into a plaintive whine.
Dawn looked very disappointed. "If Andrew's cooking, can we at least get him a cookbook that isn't older than I am?"
Buffy snorted, "How 'bout one that's not older than Giles?"
Giles failed to look amused.
END.
Title: Proof
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Faith/Giles
Set: Post-Season 7
Rupert Giles was a rather observant man.
So he didn't need anyone to note the fact the woman with self-diagnosed "boring shit ADD" paid attention when he was giving the briefings.
He didn't require the observation that her nightly patrols frequently ended in his study for a drink.
And the apparently contrary fact she tossed out ever fewer risqué comments during their nightly chats quite surpassed needed proof.
Which isn't to say he didn't enjoy watching Faith proving she was sincere all those years ago in her off-the-cuff assessment of her sister Slayer's Watcher.
He did - very much so.
END.
