Summary: Joyce has stumbled on the secret of turning bad boys good…or at least marginally less bad.
The Cleveland suburbs were quiet - birds chirping happily and the distant laughter of children playing. Joyce grabbed a few grocery bags from the trunk and paused to enjoy the peace and quiet.
That tranquility vanished as she entered the chaos of Slayer Central. As usual, the younger Slayers were happily bickering amongst themselves.
“Hey - that’s MY seat!”
“Joyce! She took-”
“I did not! You-”
Joyce ignored them and started unloading groceries. Everyday was like playing ringmaster of an out-of-control circus.
She was surprised when someone sat the remaining bags on the counter.
“Let me help,” Draco offered, starting in on the bags.
He’d been with them a month. Rupert’s only explanation was that he was doing a favor for an old friend in letting Draco join them.
Draco rarely mentioned his home or why he had fled to America, but every now and then he would join Joyce in a late-night chat.
“You got more,” Draco smiled, holding up a small bag.
It was good to see him smile for once and she hated to ruin it by laughing.
Perhaps she’d stumbled on some undiscovered rehabilitation technique. What was it about bad boys and mini marshmallows in their cocoa?
END.
