15. Boston 11/06/06- 5-3 Atlanta. This game was far more one-sided than the score really indicates. In the first period, Kozlov one-timed the thrashers to a 1-0 lead, and Kovalchuk uncorked a heavy slapshot from the point for the second power play goal of the game, and the 2-0 advantage. Boston managed to earn a tally in the second period, and the game hung in the balance at 2-1 in the second intermission. In the 3rd period however, Atlanta made Boston look like an AHL team, when Kovalchuk absolutely BLASTED a shot from 54 feet away into the back of the netting for a 3-1 lead, Marian Hossa crossed over a defender, and hopped and skipped his way to a 5-hole shot for the 4-1 advantage, and Ilya recorded his 7th career hat trick with his third power play slapshot from up top goal of the night, before the original sixers picked up a couple of cheap ones with less than 2 minutes remaining. The Bruins went back to Boston with another loss, and the Atlanta Thrashers for the first time in franchise history, took the points lead on the entire NHL!
