BFI Merlin Screening and Las Vegas.
So im back! got back on thurday last week, but to be honest i havent stopped, its been manic.Las Vegas is fantastic, so much to see and do! trying but so worth it! each hotel has got something different and definalty worth a visit. personal favourites were Caesers Palace (where we stayed), the Mirage and Excaliber! ( i know about the last one but u know me, i love all things related to Arthurian legend!). The Grand Canon was amazing too, so glad we did it! what a sight and espically with seeing a sunrise too (we were picked up at 4.45) so got to see the sun rise over the canon!! breath-taking.
Anyway Thursday and Friday was spent recovering from the holiday and the flight (dont usually suffer from jetlag but i did this time!) and on Saturday i headed down to see mighty_pretty to spend the weekend. Saturday we watched the England game (only a friendly but its football :) - was good to see ROI win as well, Doyle scoring too :)).
And then on Sunday along with quite a few LJers we headed to the BFI Southbank for the Merlin screening!!! Fantastic day or what. got up nice and early and went down to pick our tickets up and then headed into London for some lunch (down in L.Square) and then enjoyed the sun in T.Square!! before heading back to Southbank.
When we got there, there was so much to do as they were having a merlin funday too! im sure the organisers thought there were going to be lots of kids there (there were more than i thought there would be actually) but believe me us 'fangirls' were there in force! We headed straight to the table of posters and postcards (we both got one of each). next came the table with the books and activity pack. we were just looking at them, when the nice lady behind the table said they were free!!!!! yay!! however us 'adults' had to have the activity books which the children where allowed the books! some v nice hardback books with pictures of Colin and Bradley (the dragon's call and valient). we weren't allowed!! :( however after seeing that lots of 'adults' had the books and the fact that it was nearly time for the screening, i made my way back to the table and aquired two 'valient' books, with a very swoon worhty picture of Bradley on the front!!! :) YUMMMMMM
we also had our picture taken (you could dress up if u wanted to, we chose not to) and then you could choose which cast members you wanted added to the picture as well.....ummm hard decision??? NOT!!had to be Bradley and Colin!! and all for FREE might i add! and this was before the screening.
so made our way into screening and just before it started out came the cast!!! excited or what!!! the fact that they were sitting in the audience - yay. i would have loved to have been sitting in front or behind them, just to hear their reactions to audiences reactions of the episode (although im pretty sure that i would not have been concentrating on the episode if i was sitting so close to Bradley :)) The guy is even hotter in real life! Colin's smile is so cute too!
the episode was amazing and i seriously can not wait to see it again. Wont mention anything spolierly for those who havent seen it. but those of you that have, well you know what im talking about. talk about an opening!!!!! how did they expect us to concentrate after the first couple of scenes. Loved the comment from Bradley too! all the cast know how to push out buttons, but he steps it up a level!
the tralier.................OMG OMG. seriously no words. there was so much in the tralier that i cant wait to see actually on my tv. i think im going to be spending this season watching it from the floor just incase! i will not be responsable for me actions regarding certain scenes (well put together directors/producers! left us all hanging).
Q&A time and again they tried to keep it Kiddie-friendly (i think they were afraid of what us fangirls might come out with). ASH and Richard Wilson made me laugh thoughout, as did Bradley and Colin. Bradley looked really tired, but im not suprised as him, Colin, Angel and Richard were all rushed off straight after the Q&A to go back to France. Richard Wilson saying 'that obviously Merlin and Arthur belong together' had the audience in fits of laughter, espically when Bradley asked if he meant Arthur/Merlin or Bradley/Colin (see even they knew what we were all thinking!!!).
after the Q&A we stayed for autographs and manged to get ASH and Katie's. both were lovely to talk to and were more than happy to stand signing and talking to fans. Katie is such a sweetie!
It was a fab day and im so glad that we went. wouldnt have wanted to go with anyone else (hope u had a fab day too mate). dont forget i want copies of your pictures, because sadly mine didnt come out (evil man telling us we couldnt use a flash :(). i got some video footage but am trying to sort it out to upload later.
