Several weeks ago, the man wanted to try out some different guns, so he rented a few at the range. I tried them too and fell in love with the Sig Sauer P229 .40 caliber. And... now I own one.

I went to the range today with my new Springfield XDM-9. It handled great. I was hoping for less recoil than I get with my Glock 26, but really it was about the same. Supposedly the longer barrel reduces how much you feel it, but it also has more top/front weight which is harder for me to control. So I'd say the recoil felt about the same. It's ( Read more... )

I picked up my new gun today (the Springfield XDM-9) and it's awesome. I haven't actually fired it yet (we're going to the range on Sunday), but I have some dry-fire bullets (plastic bullets that don't shoot) so I was at least able to play with it a bit. I'm hardly a sharpshooter, but here's a couple targets from tonight. I was doing some rapid firing along with some careful aims, so overall I was pretty pleased with my hits.
