another weekend gone by, another two days closer to death. how is that for some optimism on a monday morning?
i kid. things are not so bad. yesterday i ate some incredibly - like, INSANELY - greasy pizza, and not only did it make my stomach ache but it also put me in a really sad, blah sort of mood for the rest of the day where i was all like "what do i want from life? am i wasting my youth?" (you know that sort of mood) but then i had some chai and watched Art School Confidential and that both perked me up and depressed me a bit more.
but enough of that! on to the most important topic at hand, that is: the craft bazaar!
so on friday night, TSM and i went over to vanessa's and tom's for drinks. we went to this pub and had strongbows and chips and curry. YUM. TSM went back home and tom fell asleep early, so vanessa and i hung out on her living room floor and dressed her cat up in a scarf. it was a fashion show. here are some pictures:
look at that stretch! oscar is the most laidback cat i've ever met. and he's not even addicted to the nip like snugs.
work it bitch!
where'd he go?
oscar's too sexy for this scarf:
making love to the camera like the catwhore he is:
now if this doesn't say wild friday night, i don't know what does.
on saturday morning, we had to wake up so early, like 7 am! that is sacriligious on a saturday, but these are the sacrifices we must do for our crafts, am i right? (note: that is so insane that i just used two words that start with "sacri" in the same sentence, is it not?). ness put on the coffee, i put on the cleavage, and then eli came and we headed out to grimsby. we got there by 8ish and were set up by 9ish. it then proceeded to be 5 hours of insane, mind-blowing craft selling. it was off the hook! here is what our table looked liked:
my dishcloths! i packed them in 3s with a little bow and christmas decoration attached. and look at that sign, with the snowman stickers! i am fucking awesome.
vanessa's mosaiced boxes. her boyfriend is a carpenter, so he built the boxes and then she created the mosaics and stained them. they are amazing boxes and i bought one for my brother's girlfriend. if they weren't so heavy, i'd buy and mail one for you too.
cheryl's hand-painted ornaments. she took clear balls and painted them with this very fine, special glue and then used different colours of glitter. they were really pretty, but very time-consuming she said. i bought one for my mom for christmas but already gave it to her because i am impatient like that.
eliza's magnetic boards. she took cookie trays and did cool collages on them and then made inspirational magnets using clear stones (kind of like marble magnets i guess?). they were really pretty. i bought one for my semi-sister-in law. see how i support the arts?
and here are my lady friends in all of their true, crafting glory:
you thought i was joking about the cleavage, but, oh, how you were wrong.
and it must have worked, because i sold six of the 12 packs of cloths. as Borat would say: NICE. high five!
after the show, though, i was so effing tired so kept my strength by consuming both tea and coffee. i was double fisting! INAPPROPRIATE. i hung out with my parents for a while and then met up with eli, ness,
trinity899, and sarah. our favourite coffee shop recently closed down so we were kind of unsure what to do. then my mom says that the coffee shop just relocated to a bigger and better spot. that was the best news. we made our way over there and it was so nice to know that the best hot chocolate in existence wasn't dead and gone, y'know? but because i am so open to new experiences (ha...that is usually not very true), i decided to try vietnamese coffee. it comes in a clear mug and the bottom layer is sweetened condensed milk, the middle is two shots of espresso, and the top is "crema", which sounds like "cream" so i just went with it. the guy said to enjoy the way it looked, all layered like that for a second, and then you stir it up and drink it. it was very good. sweet and thick but with a very strong coffee flavour. is there anything better than that?
sunday was just a ho hum sort of day. my brother's girlfriend drove me back to toronto, except the santa claus parade was on so we were stuck in horrendous traffic. I HATE TRAFFIC. i am moving to saskatchewan, i swear. but i made it home by 4ish, ate some greasy, leftover pizza, and spent the rest of the night feeling depressed and obese. and so goes another delightful weekend!
the end.
