Hm there's been a lot going on since I last posted. Mom had a colon cancer scare but she's doing well now. She's lost a lot of weight between the massive surgery on her insides and the loss of appetite. So. My father has been seriously slacking with his fish tank. I mean SERIOUSLY slacking. The 75 Gallon tank had maybe 20 gallons of water in it and the water had turned to sludge-- ripe with thick algae blooms and grime and of course, who could forget all the fish poo ( Read more... )

I just found myself somehow awake at 9am. I was really probably awake at 8:15 or so because I rolled around and napped for a while before seriously stepping out of bed. I just (almost)  finished watching the Neil Patrick Harris episode of SNL. The show itself seems to be picking up a little of its former steam-- but its still nowhere near as good as it used to be. Lola is doing well, forgot to take before and after pics, I guess after pics will suffice although it does not tell you how awful she looked before. Anyway, Kaytee just allowed me to take her out of her cage (She stepped up for CHRISSAKES!) and let me take her up to the bathroom where she continued to let me bring her into the shower where she actually seemed to be ok with getting wet. I am SHOCKED.

I'm getting so much done. I rearranged and recleaned and fixed up Freddie's tank. Then it was on to Gracie's tank. Beardie then hamster. Tomorrow may be the birds' turns. I met the big boy St. Bernard we're considering taking off the hands of a lady mom works with. He wasn't taller than Maddie or Sasha but he sure was thicker-- he barked and growled once at Sasha, but I want to say he was playing. Unfortunately it was hard to tell because as soon as he barked, the lady pulled him back.
