...then when I'm confined to the couch! Yep, that's right, I'm having a bad day an am in alot of pain so I'm camped out on the couch today :-( I knew the pain was coming. I had 3 FULL days this past week because my close friends (who also rent my rental house here at the farm) got married on Saturday. So i spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday doing wedding stuff. I did some manicures and pedicures for a few people, which took an entire day and then on Friday I helped decorate the hall, which took another almost full day. Friday night we had the rehearsal, which we had to go to since Tom was ushering, and then I was up til the wee hours of the morning seeing buttons on and fixing sleeves on ball jerseys for the ushers. Saturday I was up at the crack of dawn to go get my hair done before I did make up for the entire bridal party and a few other people. And then it was off to the wedding, dinner and the reception after that. We had a great time but by the time the reception came around, I was beat. We couldn't go home early though, because we were responsible for taking the bride and groom to their hotel after the reception. The wedding was amazing and the reception hall looked AMAZING!
It was an eventful day right from the beginning. One of the bridesmaids decided it was a good day to have a baby, so we were all on our cell phones getting updates from her husband thru the whole thing waitin to hear that the baby had arrived. It had been a big joke the whole time leading up to the wedding, that she was going to pop the same day. So ironic that it turned out that way! She started having contractions Friday night while her husband was at our place having beers with the groom. He went to the hospital at 830 the morning of the wedding and Bryce Glen Allen Martin was born at 8:00 pm. She was exhausted, having been up for 40+ hours straight. Bryce decided to hang out 'sunny side up' for a bit so she had an extreme amount of painful back labour before he decided to roll over into the appropriate position. She pushed for over 2 hours straight before he was born but managed to have him completely drug free with the exception of a little bit of gas and a shot of morphine early on when she was having alot of back labour. Mandy and Rob are both going to be AMAZING parents. Rob surprised me a few years ago at our yearly get together with how amazing he was with Addy. Mandy told me that after they left he told her how much he enjoyed her and wanted to take her home lol!
So the wedding has kept us pretty busy lately but other than that, life has been pretty uneventful. I'm working on more paperwork for my insurance company to keep me on disability and now have to apply for the Canada Pebsion Plan Disability Program thru the government. I've heard it can take up to 15 months foe it to be approved so I'm really not looking forward to it. The application alone is like 75 pages and most people are declined and then have to appeal their case to get approved. We might as well get started on it now if it's going to take that long.
Anyways, I'm tired now so I'm going to attempt to nap. I'm in so much pain I can't stay in one position very long so we will see how this goes...
