WHO: Cedric Diggory
WHAT: trading in the market
WHEN: Wednesday afternoon
WHERE: city center

Cedric looked at the man inspecting his pile of small game with a raised eyebrow. "You're not serious." There wasn't any actual humour in his voice. The man just stared him down, attempting to call his bluff. "Fine, I'll take it directly to the taverns. It's a little more leg work, but at least the weather's nice." He held open the large sack and immediately everything began floating back into it.

The stall owner seemed to realize what he was dealing with, reached out a hand and grabbed a large winter hare mid flight, and seemed more than a little shocked when it was easily pulled from his hand. "All right, all right. Special deal for a worldwalker. Three fifty."

Cedric didn't move at all, but the animals did stop their morbid journey back into the sack. "Three fifty," he repeated, letting go of the burlap and folding his hands on the stall counter. "Tell me something..." He watched the man's back while he counted out coins. "Would you still be trying to cheat me if I were native?" The shoulders tensed, but there were no words, even as the man turned around and handed Cedric a small cloth bag full of coins. He took it and turned to go, counting the contents as he walked away, but he only got a few steps before he turned back. "You overpaid by fifty dremlin."

There was much muttering and shuffling, but the one thing there wa not was a thick hand reaching out to take back the coins Cedric was offering. In all the muttering Cedric caught a couple words here and there. "Didn't recognize... ...don't want trouble... ...for the sack..."

Cedric had to put actual effort into not laughing. "You're paying me fifty dremlin for a burlap sack?"

Said aloud, there was no denying how ridiculous it sounded, and then a lightbulb went on somewhere in the man's head. "A bonus, to entice you to bring your next load of merchandise back here." All right, Cedric could let him get away with that one. He inclined his head in a nod of acknowledgment and began walking away. He had his own leather bag, far sturdier than the cloth one, and he moved the coins from one to the other as he walked.
