WHO: um... everybody?
WHAT: holiday party time!
WHEN: Friday, 25 December - also known as Christmas
WHERE: Cho's place
Cho hefted the big bowl of punch into her arms and carried it into the main room to set it down on one of the tables JY had helped her move. She moved slowly and carefully - the thick apron would protect her clothes from a lot, but not from a bowl full of red juices. Once it was set out, she breathed a sigh of relief, and took a ladle from her apron pocket, hanging it off the edge. Perfect. Cho walked back into the kitchen, checking to see that everything was in order, and untied her apron, hanging it on a hook by the door. She picked a shiny silver platter up off the counter and checked her hair in the slightly distorted reflection on its polished surface. She almost wished Ianto had given her something red and festive, but the deep purple blouse she was wearing was beautiful, and along with the grey skirt, she was starting to almost feel like herself again. A version of her self bold enough to wear antique fashion, but still much closer than she'd ever felt in the functional elvish clothing she'd been wearing since her arrival in Rowan.
The food was out, the room was strung with garlands of ivy and mundane little things spelled to glow with colour - not exactly fairy lights, but as close as she could manage. All over the walls and the tree and the doorframes she'd hung little bunches of holly and mistletoe and snowdrops, and dotted around the room on tall, skinny tables were large vases stuffed full of large clippings from berry bushes. Decorations and snacks in one. She thought they looked nice.
The tree had a sprinkling of fake snow in the way of soap flakes. She'd also tucked small glowing rocks into the branches, and strung it with garlands of cranberries and popped corn that Ianto had brought with him. SHe'd painted his paper mache star with yellow paint, and then carefully cast spells on each of the five points so that they gave off faint beams of light. She thought it was a nice effect. Unable to sleep the night before, head stuffed full of hot, unhappy thoughts, she'd gotten up and folded origami cranes and roses and butterflies and stars and strung them on loops of wire for ornaments. It wasn't quite up to her usual standards - wouldn't have passed muster at home - but for this place and this time, it was as good as she could make. Now she just needed someone else to show up so she could share it with them.
