Oki had needed to bathe...urgently. So, with a lot of reluctance, he left his self-imposed post in the Rowans' cave to do so. When he reaches the pool, it's easy enough to notice it's occupied, somewhat. Guy was dressed and didn't seem about to bathe so it was easy to guess he had probably done so...that and Oki's nose said so.

Walking up, Oki politely inclined his head to Guy before turning slightly to remove his clothing. "I assume you had the same idea sooner?" he asked, looking over his shoulder to see his answer.

Guy gave him a nod. Yes, he had -- and he pointed a finger over his shoulder, indicating that if Oki wanted him to leave, he could easily find somewhere else to. Well. To take a brief break from the endless tasks that had occupied him since he got here.

It was nice, just to rest.

He'd probably get bored with it soon enough.

"We're both men so it matters not," Oki answered, finishing undressing. It was so much quicker since these were lighter clothes than he was used to. "You can stay or you can go." Guy didn't seem to relax much, so he really didn't want him to feel obligated to leave.

Slipping into the pool, he ducked his head underwater to clean the mane that was his hair.

Well. Okay then.

Guy sat back against the rock face, one knee drawn up towards his chest. He had a little shade, here. Was already starting to get sweaty, again, but at least he wouldn't be sunburned.

He picked through a few of the rocks next to him, and found one more or less smooth. Taking care to avoid the part of the pool where Oki was, he threw it, skipping it once, twice on the surface of the water.

Twice.

He could do better than that.

Oki surfaced after the second skip, eying the spot the stone had disappeared beneath the surface and shaking some of the water from his hair. "You can do further right?"

He sank down a bit, settling against the end of the pool. The water was cooler than the air, so he really wasn't keen on hurrying just yet.

Go farther?

Guy selected another rock, carefully balancing his palm. Gave Oki a sort of 'watch this' expression, and threw this one.

Three skips, this time.

He was out-of-practice.

The corners of Oki's mouth twitched in an almost-smile. "You might need to practice some more...you can't need to warm up." Was that a joke? Oki's face doesn't tell.

He washes his body, glad to be clean again. The night was more of his time of day, because he knew how to deal with the biting cold.

Guy, himself, was used to extremes of temperature. Heat and cold. He lived in Florida, he lived in space. He survived hurricanes. He survived vacuum.

Guy snorted, a little. Taking it as a joke, even if Oki's face was impassive. Some people were that deadpan. Guy wasn't -- everything he thought was written all over him.

He picked up another rock, and hefted it, in his hand, considering giving that one a try.

Oki wasn't that well-travelled, but what's a person to do?

"That looks like a good one to me." Settling back again, he waited to see if Guy would try that one. He had made a small joke and was glad the silent man had caught it.

All right. Here goes.

Guy threw the rock, with a flip of his wrist, and -- yes! Six, and the rock made it all the way to the other side of the pond.

Heck yes.

Oki smiled and gave an approving nod, but didn't say anything. Words weren't needed all the time after all. Guy was proof of that in a way.

With a regretful sigh, he figured he'd need to get soon. One person having woken up was not enough for him to cease watching the cave. He could spare a few more minutes in the water though.

Hey, he smiled. An actual reaction, from the ordinarily stern and expressionless one.

Guy settled back against the rock face, again, this time shifting a little farther into the shade. It was working up to be another beautiful, featureless clear desert day. Much more of those, and they would be more torture than anything else.

Guy missed humidity.

For a few moments Oki simply enjoyed the quiet between them, but finally, he climbed out of the water. Not at all minding the fact that he was still wet, he pulled on his pants and found some shade to sit in. "Are you going back to the camp soon?"

Guy shook his head. There really wasn't anything there that needed his attention.

Nodding his understanding Oki looked out over the water. "I suppose their's only so much we can do here."

In the struggle to survive, maybe it was too much to hope for, to have a few moments to himself.

Guy tilted his head back against the rock, closing his eyes.
