Where: One of the smaller, more isolated pools.
When: Wednesday, during the day
The water reminds him a little of a pool he found in California. Concrete was cracked but not broken, the surface clear, the bottom scattered with dirt. There was metal in the bottom. Candlesticks and silverware and jewelry. It looked like someone had thrown it there --
But the water shivers, with the breeze, in the same way. Guy's reflection looks the same.
He bends down and trails fingers through the water. Water lukewarm from the temperature extremes of hot and cold. But clear. Clear enough.
Be's in the pool, a few minutes later, unselfconsciously naked, running fingers through his hair.
Amazing how sand can get in your skin, hair, clothes, eyes.
Once done, he settles back on the relatively clean rock, draping a shirt over his hips. Leans back, closing his eyes.
The sun won't feel nice for long, but he'll just stay for a few minutes.
