Open NPC Post: BIRDSONG

Devorah doesn't like it here.

The Elves give her looks that are half-worship, half-disgust; she is both admired and reviled, remembered with honor and disregarded without ceremony. Her job is to protect the worldwalkers; those here are safe. Those in Jhelbor are not.

Thus, she spends today preparing for a journey. She painstakingly sharpens her weapons, stocks up on food, and then descends out of the tree where the worldwalkers have been living, heading West.

Towards the Labyrinth.

Today, Quahl can also be found in the city. She has already accepted her duties as the heir to the Mother. Thus, she is busy moving around Birdsong, inspiring the Elves she sees; a smile, a quick nod, a few choice words, and they leave a little more invigorated than they were before.

She can be found on the walkways.

The Mother is one hundred and fifteen years old, and her mind is still hers, but when she closes her eyes she can still feel that interfering enchantress trying to pry her mind open. It frightens her more than she'd like to admit.

It was her own failure that got her captured, her own foolish bravery, and she is deeply indebted to those who rescued her.

Today, she can be found high in one of the tallest trees, alone, in a spire at the top. Technically, it should be a watchtower, but there are others, and so much of Birdsong is occupied in the industry of war that they can leave this one empty, for now.

No one's stopping an exploring worlwalker from climbing up and finding her.

Lhoral is relieved to be home. She's spent the last day with her family, assisting them at her tasks, and tomorrow she begins briefing younger warriors on the current state in the field. She stays down on the ground, today, running through martial arts exercises, and meditating.

The worldwalkers may notice that there are no restrictions on them here. The assumption, by all elves, seems to be that if they're here, they're allowed to move anywhere they like. Exceptions are private residences. The elves do seem a hint cautious around them, as the worldwalkers are not elves, but it's a caution they seem consciously inclined to overcome.
