What: Most nontriumphant debriefing
Where: Birdsong
When: Saturday afternoon

Cherry had been avoiding the elves. Her emotions were too raw and she knew that she would open her big mouth and say exactly what was on her mind. They had risked their necks for the Mother, people had died for it. And how were they being treated? Like dirt. Like serfs. Like peasants. Like Humans.

Her eyes stung and the back of her throat closed up when she thought about it too much, but how could she avoid thinking about it? She couldn't, that was the truth. And so, Cherry sat apart from the ungrateful elves, on the floor of the forest beneath the room where she was staying. She was wearing a silky, red gown that made her feel fat. Her journal was littered with half finished poems and eulogies. The only thing she had managed to finish was a song to Bret. Writing it, she had burst into tears and not for the first time since the retreat from Jhelbor.

Finally, she gave up and set the journal down. Around here were some wild flowers. Vervain, the protective herb. It existed in Hyrule and protected from vampires, along with hawthorn and garlic. It smelled better. She picked a bundle, gathering the blooms up in her skirt and when she sat down again, she started to weave the stems together, forming a garland of purple flowers. A hollow tribute, she supposed, but she didn't know what else to do. Her options were limited to screaming, crying, or making a wreath. She choose the wreath.
