Midday on Friday, those who assisted with the capture of the Mother make it to the Elven city of Birdsong.
Gradually, over the last few days, the forest has gotten quieter -- not dead of life, like the Labyrinth, but older, more dignified, slower. The trees get larger, from slim trunks to trees large enough to hold a cottage. The Elves seem to get progressively happier, as this happens. They're getting closer to home.
Finally, today, Lhoral halts the group, with a, "We've arrived."
At first, it doesn't seem like there's anything different about the path. Huge trees, all around, but no city in sight.
Lhoral probably finds it funny that none of the worldwalkers see it, at first. Finally, she gestures for them to look up.
Above them, and difficult to see against the leaves, is an elaborate latticework of rope, vine, construction, all built into a sort of hanging city between the branches. And now that it is examined closer, it's clear that the trees themselves have been, in many cases, hollowed out, made into dwelling-places, all without hurting the tree enough to kill it.
The Elves lead the travelers through a nearly-hidden hole in the bark of a nearby tree, and up a spiral staircase into the city proper.
The Mother is whisked away on important matters almost immediately; everyone in the traveling party, Elves included, are offered baths, clean clothes, comfortable food, places to sleep. They ask you a few questions about your preferences -- whether you'd like to be alone, what sort of food, etc. -- and then they lead you to a room within a tree, and provide.
Time to rest.

A note: Robbie Turner vanished from the midst of the group, Thursday night.
This post may also be used to tag Lhoral during the journey itself. The Mother, subtly but constantly, is nearly always unavailable to talk.
