Nazarene hated coming into town now. Time was not predictable, and she hated things she couldn't control. Of course, if someone was going to head into Jhelbor for two hours and merge days later, it couldn't be Royal, and there was pride that she was the person he trusted to go in his place.

Today the news was more interesting than usual. Time returning to normal. Of course, in the areas where time seemed to be behaving, the shimmer of Godly influence was everywhere she looked. Not exactly a fair trade, as far as she was concerned. The never-ending buzz of indecipherable chatter did nothing to calm that feeling of disquiet.

Lloy had been moving for most of the day. The term 'day' was awfully subjective now, but as long as time marched forward it was still appropriate. The observation group from the 'morning' had noticed the change in the flow of people and events in the city. Now it was his turn to watch. Some of the others were down in the thick of things. He could see Priya occasionally in her yellow human shirt. Lloy preferred to have a slightly wider scope, which was the reason he'd galloped to the top of the city's outer wall. From here he could see the area of disturbance shrinking. He did not have the Shaman's gift, but he still saw more than would be visible to anyone else in his position.

Aihlen was disturbed, though one would be hard pressed to glean this knowledge from his outward appearance. He looked happy, largely unconcerned with the fluctuations in time or with the fact that they were fading from the edges of the city. It was his eyes that gave away the game. Glittering and happy, but only on the surface, the thinest veneer. The papers held in his hand seemed innocent enough. Communication from home. Things were not going as planned.

Aspen looked unhappy. That didn't mean she was, it was just the only emotion her face could reliably convey. All things considered, today was not a bad day. Mostly because she could say with authority that it was today, and that tomorrow would be tomorrow, and that things were returning to normal. The section of Lake Rowan that the Goblins had claimed for themselves was no longer under the sway of the time disturbances. Aspen was down in the water, not fully submerged, but lying on her back with her long, pale hair fanned out all around her, moving in the water like a living extension of her body. Around her and above her and below her Goblins got on with the day to day, while she floated, lost in her thoughts, mere feet from the shore.

Tori was thrilled. A return to normalcy. A lightening of the tension. The ability to once again keep appointments reliably! It was enough to have her smiling and out on the walkways, turning her face into the wind and breathing in the earthy scent of the morning's rain. Even the overcast sky wasn't going to bring her down. Not today. She didn't even mind the strange looks she was getting as she greeted everyone in her immediate path.

and our brand new NPC

She's too busy to talk to him. Even his claim that 'busy' only applied in a finite and linear understanding of time, which was of course completely meaningless for a god in addition to being completely metaphysically wrong only got him an annoyed huff. It's utterly exasperating - he can hear her, hear dozens of them around him, up to something, but for once she won't even give him a hint. Or at least, Melquiades would be exasperated, if there were really any such person with a free consciousness, but that would be absurd. He smiles and lets his eyes drift closed, enjoying the feeling of the sun on his skin, whether the sun is real or not. Perhaps he and the sun are actually the same. He likes that idea. Too bad she isn't listening.

There is an elf sitting in the street leaning against a building, out of the way of most foot traffic but not too far from it. His clothes look very worn and mismatched, but they seem to be decent quality. Propped next to him is a plain sign, in neat, elegant script which reads:

I Know Stuff
