Beautiful day...
Today, Sean and I went to Kingston to visit his grandparents. The weather was warm, but quite sunny, perfect for a road trip. Sean's mom had spent the weekend at her parents home, so we decided to join her and go for a visit today.
Sean's Grandma was celebrating her 84th birthday today, she's an amazing woman; both his grandparents are warm and welcoming to me each and every time they include me in their family get togethers. We went to an early dinner and then brought back his granddad takeout as he has been quite ill over the last few years and is still recouperating a year later after falling down last June on their outside deck. It amazes me how with a little help from church friends, neighbours and Sean's mom and aunt; his grandparents still live at home in their own house.
It was a lovely day, and the drive is always fun - we took some tunes and sang along to enjoy the 2 hour drive. On the way home, we stopped to look into Sean's cat at his mom's house, water her flowers and then dropped off a Timmy's triple triple for my sister before finally arriving home. And last but not least, my Mom called from Calgary to say hello while she is travelling. I was glad to hear from her, it made a great day even more memorable :)
And as well, I want to wish a happy, healthy birthday to a fellow lj user
squantus who added me as a friend way back, as he is celebrating his 51st birthday tomorrow. I hope it is enjoyable and that you have a great start to another great year.
Ooooh.... and Tiger Woods was pretty neat to watch today after catching a few of his plays yesterday as well...
