I just made a cake (intended to feed about 100 people at my grandmother's 90th birthday party).
It is huge.
And, I did the math. The grand total is 32,900 calories.
32,900.
No, I did not misplace a decimal.
It took 14 eggs, 11 cups of sugar, 18 oz chocolate chips, 2.5 cups of cream, 5 cups of buttermilk, 13 sticks of butter, 1 c oil, 12 cups of flour, and misc cocoa, leavening, vanilla, what have you.
It is a half-Black Magic Chocolate, half-Buttermilk Country double-decker cake with chocolate ganache in the middle and homemade real-vanilla French Buttercream icing on the outside, and it is GLORIOUS.
I only hope I will be able to carry it to the car.
I will post pictures after I give my grandmother a heart attack for her 90th birthday tomorrow
