In which Maggie Posts Another Portrait, and Some Insects on Napkins

Here's the portrait:

Sam! The freshman! I have made him look more like a lady than he does.

And here are some insects that I drew on napkins today. I like them a lot! I think they look a little art nouveau. There are seven:
In the order I created them. This is the first:

Bee!

The second, a beetle-thing. I thought it might be a ladybug, but I think it's some other kind of round beetle.

Here's something actually labeled "beetle"

Praying Mantis - I think this one is my favorite.

Grasshopper! As per Elizabeth's suggestion. I ran out of insects around "bee"

Cicada! Also Elizabeth's suggestion. I wish this one had been neater - I think it will look better if I change the line quality to make other bits match the heaviness of the head.

Finally, a dragonfly. I was going to avoid big-winged insects because I'm terrible at keeping the symmetry, but this one didn't fail enough for me to throw out.

Here's the inspiration for these, which I drew ages ago and may have already posted:

I always feel as though I should wrap up entries somehow. I guess I could just leave this hanging.
