Did you think I'd forgotten about you?

I'm fairly sure that I've noted previously that I've drifted away from LiveJournal a little in favour of F*ceb00k. It occurs to me, however, that for actual journal type writing this medium is far superior, plus you don't need to worry so much about annoying 15 year olds messaging you1. I have decided therefore that I would give a brief2 overview of the happenings in my life over recent weeks.

  • Young doughnutdiary had a birthday the other week so I nipped up to Glasgow and we all had a rather pleasant outing to Balloch to poke fish and otters. We seemed to spend quite a lot of the day in pubs as well. Most pleasant
  • Having dropped subtle hints for the last ten years I was lucky enough to be invited to be the guest speaker at the Cecilian Dinner Dance. As I was both a guest and speaking I seemed to fill all the requisite criteria. My usual habit of wandering round the tables between courses was greeted with some suspicion by the people who didn't know me, but I think I won them over with my combination of wit and standing looking uncomfortable. The evening was topped of beautifully when I accidentally flashed my undercarriage3 to a 15° arc of an Auld Lang Syne circle
  • A salient is also a jutting out bit into enemy land, in case you find yourself commanding a battle and in need of a suitable word

1 - I sadly don't have the strength of will to decline friend invitations from people I don't actually like
2 - I of course mean 'comparatively brief for me'
3 - That's a euphemism for c*ck
