Rhode was beginning to think that going through with this battle was a bad idea. It's wasn't that she was afraid of Luke nor did she believe her would reveal her secret. The boy did seem like the type to gossip. Oh no, she had a good reason why she didn't want to battle.

It was the rain.

She had woken to find it was still raining. It had become worse during the even. Now, here she was waking through the rain, with a umbrella and boots the inn lady was so kind to lend her, to battle with a boy. Granted, the umbrella was no help, her hair was platered to her skull.

She couldn't even glare at Avice since the Pokemon was safely inside his Pokemon. Eventually, she found the clearing where the would both battle. With the rain, she could tell if Luke was there. Would it be lovely to come and find out he wasn't there. She huffed before calling out.

"Are you here?" Actually, it was more like shouting due to the rain.

Upon hearing Rhode's voice, only one thought went through Luke's mind.

Bugger. Shh, don't tell the Professor he was thinking that. Despite how much he didn't want to battle, a gentleman's always true to his word. And he wasn't about to let a member of Team Rocket go around hurting other trainers, not if he had anything to say about it!

"I'm -achoo! - I'm here!!" he called out to her.

Rhode couldn't help but pout. She had been hoping the boy would show. 'Ugh' she thought privately. The boy was coming down with something. This was one reason why she hated humans. Their bodies were ridiculously fragile. They were nothing like the Noah Clan.

"Hmm! Here I thought you wouldn't show." She brought the Pokeball from her purse. "So, are you ready to battle~"

Oh, she wouldn't hold back. If only to get back to the inn, she be dry and could perhaps some those cookie the Inn lady had baked.

Upon seeing her, he tried to focus on the battle instead of all the rain. As soon as it was over, he was making a dash for the Pokemon Center where he'd have a soft, warm bed (and hopefully drier clothes). And a hot meal. A hot meal would be nice too. And-

Oh right, the battle.

"Of course I'd show! I wouldn't back out of this!" he nodded at the Teddiursa, his one reliable Pokemon. He'd use Dandy only if he had to, after all the little Pokemon would have a hard time fighting in the rain. Not to mention he wasn't also the most...reliable Pokemon.

Despite it being cute, Rhode wasn't too impressed by the Teddiursa. Pressed the white button, Avice appeared in a white little. The Sneasel didn't look too please being out in the rain, his attitude changed when he saw a his opponent. Avice turned to look at his trainer and brought out his claws.

Claws out, he pointed at he Teddiursa. This boy's Pokemon had made his Master mad. It was up to him to make sure it was taught a leasson.

"Good~ I do hope this battle proves that I am not part of that nasty Team Rocket."

Mr. Bear tried unsuccessfully shaking the rain out of her fur, right before shooting an annoyed look at the Sneasel, and also readied her claws for battle. It didn't matter to her what Luke asked her to do, just as long as she could test out her strength against another Pokemon.

It would be interesting, at least.

Meanwhile, Luke tried to peer at her through the rain. That water just kept getting higher, didn't it?

"We'll just see about that!" He looked back to his Pokemon, trying to remember how this all went again. It's not like he was really that used to commanding Pokemon to fight yet.

"Um, Mr. Bear! Try that one move...uh...fury swipes!"

She was quite glad that she had asked to borrow the boots since the water was steadily rising. On how she wished she had use of her powers. At least the, she could have manipulated them a bit.

Clearly, the boy hadn't had a proper battleyet. How boring. She try to finish this battle quickly.

"Avice, dodge and use quick attack."

Luke glanced at the rising water in concern. While the rain wasn't slowing down in the slightest, the water that was collecting around them didn't seem like it was going away either.

They'd have to finish this quickly and then head for higher ground. He sneezed and caught a glimpse of Mr. Bear grunting in pain as Avice hit her dead-on.

"Mr. Bear!" the bear Pokemon stumbled back, giving the boy a glare. Give her orders already.

"Use that new move you just learned!" Mr. Bear tilted her head for a second, and then charged towards Avice for a faint attack.

Her eyes narrowed, she didn't know what type of attack this was. But, she could faintly thought what it might entail. Honestly, the battle was going on too long. It need to be end in the next few turns. Rhode didn't care what happened to the other boy but she didn't want to be swept away by the water.

"Avice brace for it."

Avice spread it feet apart as Mr. Bear used faintly attack. It grunted only a bit in pain, since it was a dark type, the damage was only minimal. But it managed to back him slide back a few inches.

"Avice Screech!"

As much as he and Mr. Bear tried, they couldn't fully block out the sound coming from Avice. The boy winced, but since Mr. Bear was much closer, even the sound of the rain couldn't drown out the piercing sound.

The bear Pokemon stumbled back, stunned.

"O-oi, Mr. Bear! Pull yourself together!" Luke called to her, trying to get the ringing out of his own ears.

Rhode wasn't phased too much by the sound. She had grown used it. Not mention, it's screech was nice on the ears. She rather listen it that sound than listen to Jasdero or Devitt speak. A tiny smirk appeared on her face but soon disappeared. Ugh, he clothes were now soaked and stick to her frame.

This was getting ridiculous. The rain was making going to make her dress see through. Her modesty would be compromised. She never her the end of it from her Papa...or the twins.

"Avice, now use Faint Attack!"

Of course, the water had become dangerously high so it slowed the Sneasel's movement.

Another wave of heavy rain, Luke tried to move forward to see but being smaller the water was making it harder to move around in. As he saw the Sneasel try to head towards Mr. Bear, the boy quickly shouted at the Teddiursa.

"Mr. Bear, dodge it quick!"

Of course, dodging Avice's attack "quickly" would be difficult for the Teddiursa, as she had to practically swim out of the way.

She snapped her umbrella shut. It wasn't help her remain dry. She was already soaked to the bone. It would be used to keep her on her feet since the water had begun to push agaisnt her legs. It would be enough to make her stumble.

"Avice! Quick movie so slow and attack!

Sneasel did have a height advantage but the water current made it difficult to move. He nearly lost his footing but managed to stay on it feet. It would not allow rain to make him lose.

Mr. Bear was currently pushing against the current to attack herself. She couldn't even hear Luke at this point, it was more about trying to avoid getting swept up by the current at this point.

Luke, on the other hand, was having difficult staying on his feet.

"It's getting too danger-!" he was cut off as the rain came down even harder, filling the area faster with more water.

Even with the umbrella dug deeply into the earth, it was help her stand against up the current. The water were moving swiftly and send her off balance. If she stayed any longer, she would be swept away by the current.

She and Avice needed to leave the area now. The battle could be counted on until later. Right, now at that mattered was not drowning. She curse the fact the she had a human body. She could have easily transported herself back to the Inn.

"Avice we nee-" She was interrupted by the rain and water sloshing against her legs. It nearly sent her tumbling.

Luke tried turning around, as the current hit him it took him down with it. The boy yelped as he went down, and the downpour made it difficult for him to stand back up. The situation wasn't look good. No one else knew they were out here, did they?

The Teddiursa was currently in the process of swimming back towards Luke, except the currently was pushing her too quickly. The boy was more focused on trying to grab her instead of trying to escape.
