Katara was sitting on Jet, trying to get used to riding the Ponyta's back. It was nothing like riding on Appa, and she'd really never had the chance to ride any other type of mounts besides penguins. They were supposed to be really fast, though, so she was sure travel would be easier once she got the hang of it, and he seemed to like her well enough not to burn her.
"Ed, on the other hand, better not get too close." She chuckled, rubbing Jet's neck. She hadn't really missed the sad irony in naming the fire horse after her friend, but she couldn't help being reminded of him when she first encountered and caught Ponyta. Plus the name just seemed to suit him. He liked it and had refused to answer to anything else after when she tried.
But enough about the bond between a girl and her fire type. Katara could see figures coming down the road. She moved to ease off of Jet's back but let him stay out for the time, immediately recognizing Ed from their video swaps.
