Friday the 13th
On Friday the 13th, I had a fantastic interview for a part time staff position at MIT's career center and we also found our new apartment!
We're moving just off Mount Auburn Ave in Watertown June 15! It's in Coolidge Square/Little Armenia. We found a great two bedroom/1 bath with off street parking for $1200 a month, which is actually less than we're paying now for rent. Right on the 71 bus line, a short walk to the 73, steps away from a ton of restaurants, a liquor store, an Armenian grocery, a laundromat. I'm very, very happy - especially because the process was easy/stress free. It was the first place we looked at and we jumped because it ticked all the boxes. Glad we did!
MIT interview went great - it was a short presentation + a panel interview, and I managed to find the confident/professional/charming person somewhere deep inside me. It was really gratifying. The MIT career center is NOT fucking around. You should see the place! They have a whole huge back room full of cubicles for on campus interviews. I was extremely impressed with them and I really hope I get an offer. Even if I don't I'm glad I met with them. It was really awesome to have a conversation with people who are clearly excited about their job.
