I came back from London yesterday evening and the temperature shocked me a bit when I walked out of the airport building, it was at least 10 degrees colder here than in London. I enjoyed my trip as much as I could despite the horrible cough I had all the time. I took some medication, but it doesn't seem to help much.
Travelling from Heathrow airport to Sidcup by public transport (underground & train) with two people's heavy luggage (2 suitcases, a sportsbag, a big shoulder bag and a backpack) and me being in sick was quite a hard task to do, as we had to climb up some stairs at underground stations when changing to different lines.
One night we were supposed to meet most of Jamie's friends at a pub, but I was too ill (having fever and all) so we didn't go. We went to visit Tim and Dan at their homes though. They're Jamie's friends who live quite near him. Well, Tim actually lives in Southampton now as he studies there to be a doctor, but he was visiting his parents in Sidcup.
Dan works in a school (he's some substitute/helping teacher) and he has a cute rabbit called Marmelade. Marmelade was very afraid of me and being on my lap, eventhough I told her that I'm a vegetarian like you so I won't eat rabbits. We also met Dan's mum and sister.
Tim had problems with his Playstation 3 when we tried watching movies, so we ended up watching Family Guy. Jamie and Tim also played some Guitar Hero while I was coughing and playing with Tim's motorized sofa. Haha, you just push a button and the sofa moves into a comfortable position.
The last two days (5th and 6th) before I left we spent mostly in the city shopping. We went to Portobello road, called the world's largest antique market, but we really didn't buy anything antique there. I just bought a pair of black boots and dark purple stiletto heel platform shoes (I measured the heel, it was 5 inches) from
this shop.
Then I bought a London souvenir decorative plate for my aunt, a London mug for my dad and a rolling pin for myself. My own wooden rolling pin had been broken for a while, I had to use a not so good plastic one (those that should be filled with hot or cold water depending what type of pastry you're baking), so when I saw quite cheap rolling pins in that shop that was mostly selling souvenirs, I decided to buy one.
The Body Shop had a sale, so we bought a few things from there. Jamie really loves their rasbperry body butter. We also visited at Lush and bought a "fizzy bath ball", something that dissolves into your bathwater and makes it nice.
After visiting the shops of Portobello road, we admired the "poshness" of The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (that area has the most expensive apartments/houses in London, average price being over £1 000 000, also Harrods is located there).
We also had a long walk through Regent's Park all the way to Camden Town. Regent's Park looked really nice with all those nice fountains and everything being so neat, but as I was having a flu, I started to feel a bit frozen after all that walking and I really wanted some hot tea.

Irc-Galleria On the 6th we went to shop on Oxford street. We bought a lot of stuff from Primark for £50, for example nice purple skinny jeans for Jamie and purple block heel pumps for me. Yeah, we really seem to like the colour purple. We had a look at Selfridges, but didn't buy anything, eventhough they were advertising that their stuff is almost free in the january sale (well, I guess that those prices were almost free for brands like Prada, Balenciaga and Dior).
For some reason my boyfriend didn't want me to have a closer look at the designer handbags, so our visit in Selfridges wasn't that long. I was also joking and asking him if they do sell fridges. Then we had a look at Dorothy Perkins but I didn't find anything nice. I bought a Denman hairbrush and earrings from Superdrug and then some rice crackers from Holland & Barrett that gave me stomach problems. Damn too salty things.
We had some salad for lunch at Marks & Spencer and there was some old lady that was very annoyed because she couldn't find sugar. We were also supposed to go to Carnaby street and some other places, but somehow the day was going quite quickly. Anyway, we caught a glimpse of Carnaby street on bus window our way back to Charing Cross from Oxford street.
We visited The National Gallery quickly and there was a big golden (wood painted with gold coloured paint actually) chest and I made a joke that it's my suitcase. It was seriously huge, 2 people would probably fit in there. But the amount of stuff I bought wasn't that small either. Before heading back to Sidcup we took a few photos at Trafalgar Square (how japanese tourist).
The fountain was frozen
We relaxed at home for a few hours and then we went to visit Jamie's grandparents. They're really friendly people and Jamie's granny has been mistaken for the queen once in Canada. She's just so royal and seems to love dogs about as much as I do. Jamie's grandpa even gave us a lift home, because it was cold and dark.

For some reason my camera went nuts the day before I left when we were at Jamie's grandparents. It just turned on, beeped and then turned off with the objective still sticking out. Well, I took it to the shop where I bought it when I came back to Finland because it has a 12 month warranty and it was bought last summer. They sent it to the repair center, took my phone number and said that they'll inform me when it's ready.
I'm holding a book about the queen
Leaving Jamie at the airport was so sad. I took a photo of us kissing with my phone's camera.
