I'd like a do over

This weekend, which I had such plans for, went to hell in a hand basket as soon as it started.

To start off the G-man started coming down with an obvious cold Friday. By Friday night he was grumpy, had a runny nose and was running a little temperature and proceeded to keep me up most of the night.

Saturday morning, I had grand plans of loading tons of junk in the back of my truck and making multiple trips to the dump and getting rid of it all. But after no sleep I begged Orryn to get up and take Moonled to work so we could have the truck but I could get just a little more sleep. I finally dragged myself out of bed about 8:30 only to find that Orryn had taken Moonled to work in the van and Moonled had the only key to the truck in his POCKET!

By 9:30 we had tried to jump Orryn's truck to no avail, called Moonled and confirmed the key was in his pocket and waffled on how to deal with the issue. I'm not going into the gritty details, but either someone is syphoning the gas out of Orryn's truck or its got a problem, because a gallon of gas later, it started. We loaded it up as best we could, its a little S-10 so it holds like... three things and the bed is full. By 10:30 we're out on our way to the dump. Get to the dump, find the freezer in back with decaying food (the power went out in the garage where the freezer was and we didn't discover it for say a week or maybe two) had to be emptied first. Went back home, unpacked the freezer, smelled like dead animal all day for it too. Drove back to the dump and unloaded. Now it's 11:15. The dump closes at noon on Saturday and so. We made two trips to the dump and unloaded three things. Freezer gone, check. (THANK GOD) Broken dresser gone, check. Bed frame from Niera's day bed. Check. Two trundle beds, accompanying mattresses, day bed springs and assorted rubbish, OH HELL NO. Still hanging out in the garage, taking up space.

But the day is sorta saved by my Nailo, better known in my world as Kaith, arrived. So I came home. Cleaned a little, did a box opening, went up stairs for a nap (about 4:30). 7:00 I come back down, still feel like crap, wanna cry, strip Kaith down to no hair and a bathrobe, decide the world is a bit better and wander off to do school work. Finally at about 9:30, my school work is behind me and I play a little rock band with the girls before going to bed for a second round of "Mom, I have a cough, a stuffy nose and my throat hurts, please can I sleep with you" as G-man is up and down all night long.

Orryn gets up at 7:00 after G-man has flopped and tugged on his beard for half an hour. I stay in bed another half hour as he flops around in bed and hits me in the face with various limbs. Come down stairs AND... it's 61 degrees in the house. The downstairs heater isn't working.

Go out to get new filters as they have been a problem before. Go to Sam's get card. Spend $550.00 on stuff like diapers, wipes and other assorted necessities. Come home, 59 degrees and new filters fix nothing. So... no sewing, no new face up for Murasaki (they all require manual dexterity with your fingers). I make the girls help me clean. They promptly abandon me and I finish on my own. Watch some TV in the TV room since its small and has a little electric heater in it. Play Halo3 on Solo mode till the guys want to jam. Crochet with Jules. I think I'm about half way through K-baby's capelette. Play a little more Halo3 after everyone goes to bed because I'm depressed. Go to bed and play round three of "Mom, I don't feel good, I'm going to cry every time you lay me down and you're not next to me."

Got up this morning. 47 degrees in bottom of house (My house is double zoned, upstairs furnace working JUST fine Thankfully)

Other than one trip to the stupid dump and my own bit of cleaning NONE of the things I wanted to do this weekend got done. The purpose of the dump was to clean out the garage so I could move stuff from K-baby's new room into the garage. And to get rid of some of the accumulated clutter in the house. And make the house look nicer. And sew some pants for Kaith so he doesn't have to wear a house robe with gladiator shoes. And put on Murasaki's face up.

I feel cheated.

I didn't even get my dolly pictures put up. There's not much room in the TV room where it was warm and every time I thought of it in the evening, someone was using it and the thought of using it in the cold made my fingers ache.

I'll discuss Kaith's arrival later, when I feel less like crying.
