AN: Thanks to my life saver super_color who helped me when i was so stuck in the ending.
When Chinen had accepted to go on a date with Ryutaro, he became ecstatic. Ryutaro had been crushing on him for a long time and now he was finally going to have a chance to take him out. He had hoped that the date would be wonderful and that by the end of the date Chinen would have fallen in love with him too. But boy was he wrong.
Everywhere Ryutaro would take him, Chinen would tell him a story of how his ex-boyfriend Yamada would take him to the same place. At the end of the date Ryutaro walked Chinen home and said his goodbye. When Chinen asked him if he wanted to stay a little while and have coffee, Ryutaro politely declined.
That had been three days ago. He hasn’t seen or talked to Chinen since then. It’s not that he was over him; it’s just that he didn’t want to compete with the non-existing Yamada. It was pretty obvious that Chinen wasn’t over his ex-boyfriend and Ryutaro didn’t have the strength to compete with a memory. So instead he spent those days playing with his DS, going to the park with his friends, and just being lazy around his house.

Meanwhile Chinen sat in his bed with his phone in his hand. He kept on checking to see if he had a missed call or text from Ryutaro. He wondered if he did, or said something wrong during the date. When Ryutaro had first asked him out on a date, Chinen wanted to really say no, but ended up saying yes. It wasn’t as he disliked Ryutaro. The other boy was so nice to him all the time; it’s just that he felt that maybe he wasn’t ready to start dating just yet. Not after the break up with Yamada. But as their date progressed, Chinen felt himself having a great time. Honestly speaking, he hadn’t felt as happy as he did in a long time. But now he really wondered why Ryutaro hasn’t called him.

Ryutaro decided to take a walk in the park that afternoon. He had been walking there for hours just thinking about Chinen. He really did miss Chinen so he decided that he was going to call him as soon as he got home. He heard an ‘ouch’ as he bumped into something hard.
“I’m so sorry, are you okay” Ryutaro asked as he helped the boy he bumped into get up from the floor. When the boy looked up Ryutaro’s heart started speeding up. In front of him was the boy that had been occupying his thoughts for the past hours, no, past days.
“Oh no, don’t worry. It’s my fault. I’ve been really distracted lately. Sorry again” Chinen said as he prepared to leave. But before he was able to escape Ryutaro grabbed him by the wrist and made him look at him.
“Hey, don’t leave just yet. I really have missed you” Ryutaro told him.
Chinen just stared at him. “Is that why you haven’t called me” he asked.
Ryutaro felt guilty about that. In fact he really did want to call him those days but he let his pride get on the way. But now he was going to fix it.
“I’m sorry about that too” he finally said.
Chinen stayed quiet for a moment and then smiled. “That’s okay I guess. At least I’m happy I got to see you today. Want to take a walk”?
Ryutaro just smiled back and started walking alongside Chinen. Maybe Chinen wasn’t over his ex-boyfriend just yet. But Ryutaro hoped that in the near future he could be the one in Chinen’s heart.
AN2: yeah so i epicly failed on this one. I was really stuck writting this fic and got the help of Glady and my sister. That's how desperate i was that i even let my sister read it. Yeah i got this idea based on the video of We the kings - skyway avenue. So i'll just shut up now
