Love is my wine and I drink it by the cup
This weekend was a good one. Our makeshift early Christmas came and went, with presents and holiday spirit for all (with the noted exception of Paolo, but he's just been an all-around ass lately). We cooked and cleaned and decorated and managed to put together a nice little party for our families and friends, which was lovely. Pictures of our setup to come later. Val gave me what is totally one of the best presents I've ever gotten (gifts of sentimental or romantic nature excluded): a Darth Vader Force FX lightsaber (oh god oh god the sexy). I knew she was getting for me, because it counts as my last birthday/Christmas/next birthday present, and it's really big so it's a little difficult to keep concealed, but I still nearly creamed myself with geek when I put the batteries in and turned it on. OH I LOVE IT. Alan and I played with it for a large part of the weekend. WE LURFS YOU, VALERIE.
This marked the last time I'll see Alan until 2007, because my family and I are taking a week-long cruise in the Caribbean which somehow engulfs both Christmas and New Year's. It should be fun, but I'll miss spending a nice laid-back Christmas with my family in favor of traveling. However, I do get to ride a horse on the beaches of St. Maarten, so that alone may be worth it.
And at last, finals are drawing to a close. The last two I have to deal with are a one-on-one Op/Ed critique today and a math test tomorrow. I finished my final Natural History Drawing project last night (I'll show it off momentarily, since I'm quite proud of it!) so I can turn it in when I'm forced to drag my carcass to AIB today for that godawful critique wherein I know he's going to tell me some really pointless things that have more to do with his own stylistic bias than actual criticism. I'm just glad to have that class over and done with.
