FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

All I am capable of is writing Glee fanfic I swear I'm so... not even capable of doing anything this semester no me gusta.

But I'm still alive and I promised my cousin I'd read I Am Number Four so I did read it and fucking hell is it mediocre and crappy. Like, astonishingly so. I have no idea how it got made into a movie, ( Read more... )

FFF I kept meaning to text you to say hello recently sobdasha April 28 2011, 02:34:47 UTC
I miss having you tell me what books I don't need to bother reading <3

Re: the eyes things
After I meditated on the WTF for a bit, I wonder if the first was trying to mean what is generally described as "looking at X from under her eyelashes/through her eyelashes", something along those lines anyway. That thing where you have your head tilted down, and maybe your eyes a little half-lidded, and you look up at the person and it's very demure or sensual generally.
And the second one I... I... uh... maybe they meant narrowing their eyes in determination (and so you might get some wrinkles in the skin around your eyes that somehow made you go for the word "twisting"? Although you really should have had a THEN to transition from EYES WIDE to EYES NOT WIDE, if that's the case. Maybe all the cool kids roll their eyes in determination now...? Cross their eyes in determination...?)

Speaking of books and I don't remember if you got back to me on this: over here it is omg Diana Wynne Jones fest.
It's a shame I only got on this after her recent passing, but... apparently she and Gaiman were great friends, and he wrote nice stuff about her and she had posted on her wall "NEIL GAIMAN FOR POPE" in one photo which CLEARLY PROVES they were not only awesome writers but the most awesome kind of people, and aajkldsfjkldsf they write such I-adore-them children's books! Have you read much of her stuff at all? Because if you have not, you should Some Day, to satisfy my wanting to fangirl over everything. I'm hoping it would be a much more enjoyable experience than... this.

Are we at least getting kind of close to the end of the semester? Keep on surviving~ <3

Lol it is my noblest calling. Well at least I can tell myself that as I continue to read crappy YA and then whine about it on the internet.

As for the tops of the eyes thing, yeah, I totes get that that's what he's going for - the demure eyelashes thing - but that is just. Not how to phrase it. Because it's wrong and so unwieldy. As for the other one, man, you could be right, I honestly couldn't even come up with what he was aiming at there.

OOOOHKAY UM I THINK... yes? I was totes going to read some Jones with you, anyway. I have read some of her stuff and it all looks super cool, I just have trouble keeping her separate in my head from Diane Duane and it's confusing.

We are close now tho. And tomorrow I'm leaving to go visit some college with Mudgey so I am leaving all my cares behind me

except what if she decides to go there it's so far away

I mean like it's near the town where I grew up so that's... five hours at least or some shit

fffffff

You are so noble to take the blows for us~ Plus it educates me, and that is a very valuable thing!

Yeah. Somehow "top" made me think "top half" and so I have an image of eyes with a line cut through the center and...? HOW DO YOU LOOK ONLY THROUGH THE TOP HALF OF YOUR EYE??? Because you still have the other half of your pupil and retina on the bottom, it's still seeing things...

YES, YES YOU WERE GOING TO READ THE CHRESTOMANCI BOOKS BECAUSE CHRIS IS AWESOME AND I WANT TO CROSS HIM OVER WITH DOCTOR WHO IN VARIOUS VAGUE WAYS.
Diane Duane = the So You Want to Be a Wizard series? I think?

Good luck, have fun~?
5 hours is so far away. I think that's like how far away Chicago is and that's very boringly long and far away... and that was before anxiety kicked in and I still liked riding in the car just staring out the windows contentedly

OMG BABE

I AM YOUR TEACHER

YOU ARE MY FIGHTER

WE ARE SECRET ALIENS Y/N

She is wearing contact lenses that are opaque on the bottom half. That's all I got. Unless she's an alien too and can like seal off half of her eyes. It's just one of those details, man, the meaning is there but the phrasing is SO WRONG.

Yes! Yeah she is, and I can keep that straight. Diane Duane is a goddess. She followed me back on Twitter a long time ago and now I'm incapacitated. It's just that then I want to attribute Jones' books to her too. Hang on a mo...

OH OKAY OKAY IT WAS JONES

SHE DID DARK LORD OF DERKHOLM

I FUCKING LOVED THAT BOOK

And I read a few Chrestomanci books when I was little but didn't like them, but looking back that is because I was a stupid brat and the books asked too much of my mental capacities; I think I'll actually be super into them now. And I can see where you're coming from with the crossover. I am def. on board for this.

five hours is not even a little okay. at all.

YES ONLY I HATE FIGHTING, SO LET'S STAY HOME AND READ BOOKS AND NOT JOIN IN ALL THE ANGSTING-ABOUT-HOW-SPECIAL-I-AM PARTIES.

I loved her books a lot and then I loved them less, though I can't even remember why, so maybe I should put them also on my list of Reading Kids' Books Fest. Did Duane do anything other than that series...?

Dark Lord of Derkholm is wonderful and I'mma pull it off my shelf to reread on the day when I don't feel like going to the library to get more stuff. Right now I am on Archer's Goon and I even remember some of the plot twists! Good times.

Ah yeah, I know where you are coming from, I was like that with a few books. I hope you will enjoy them now, though~
omg Christopher get a fez to go with your dressing gowns, it would be ~amazing~; and when he appears in a gust of wind I just imagine TARDIS noises instead
