Just got back from my first midnight show in a long time, and my first with Erin. We saw Train to Busan. Really was just a blast of a movie. Not much to say about other than good clean fun. A bit of a twist on zombie movies, just enough to be original but not to over do it either. Defintely felt some Snowpiercer vibes, but leaps and bounds ahead of that movie in heart. It helps when you have a 5 year old kid as the main protagonist though, to be fair.
Saw fences yesterday with Jack, not much to say about it other than the most entertaining part of the movie was the dude eating chips out of a paper bag in front of us. At one point Jack asked me "Is he opening his christmas presents down there?" This guys story was definitely more compelling than Denzel's. I appreciate the past, but some plays don't need to be restaged again, and certainly not as movies. It just doesn't have the same power. Halfway through I just wanted to watch Moonlight again.
Played games with Jesse after going to Trivia with Sean and Jack. A happy thursday and a low key Friday. Ready for New York next week!
