Hard going

Returning to work today was every bit as bad as I had envisaged. Yeuk!

I'm obviously exaggerating for effect but it's not exactly fun going back to a desk with so many 'URGENTS' on it.

It was amusing to have my secretary call me 'Sanjay' though. She says I'm so tanned, I look Asian and so feels the need to call me Sanjay. Cheers, P!

Tonight I was at a book group discussing Eugene O'Kelly's 'Chasing the Daylight'. It was my first attendance at the group and I'll definitely be back. It's always interesting to hear people's thoughts on something you've just finished reading yourself. This book was written by the recently deceased CEO of KPMG America, Eugene O'Kelly. He started writing the book when he was given 3 months' to live. The book made a big impression on me and certainly I was quite emotional towards the end. The writer's last days are described frankly, methodically and in a very dignified manner. I was impressed that he did not spend his last days regretting his job-before-family ways which had controlled his life up until the point of diagnosis. He simply 'moved things up' and got on with the process of dying. He talks about winding down relationships, finding and embracing 'perfect moments' and entering into states of heightened consciousness. The relationship with his wife is particularly beautiful. She assists him physically, mentally and spiritually in a very intuitive way.

One of my flatmates moves out at the weekend. I don't think my landlord has found a replacement yet. I wonder who we'll get !?!?!?

Attempting to be in the office early tomorrow so I can start dealing with all those 'URGENTS'. Best get to the land of Zzzzz!
