hello, guys. what you up to? i'm still doing the same old stuff.
all my hard work is paying off though! yesterday i landed not just one, but FOUR ollies! granted, i barely left the ground. but i see this as a big step towards the ultimate goal for the moment..grinding. mmmm. hopefully within the next few months i'll be good enough to go represent those of the female persuasion in ze skateparks!
i found out some crap stuff about the sport though. there is some serious need for change in the skateboarding times. ladies take home an average of 250 bucks for winning a competition, while their male counterparts get thousands of dollars. grr.
i'm also considering writing to transworld or slap magazine to see if they could perhaps compile a list of skate companies who sponsor women or have them on flow. i want to put together the most woman-friendly board i can, next time. the good news is, my favorite decks are element fiberlights...and they sponsor the illustrious ms. vanessa torres! yay! i don't have to switch boards! we also found a couple of vegetarian friendly skate shoes, so that i don't have to feel guilty with my next purchase.
