I haven't been paying much attention to livejournal as of late. I seem to be fiddling with other things these days. However, I have found something rather cool that I think anyone could enjoy. Check out this link to see a marching band that plays the music and acts out classic video games. Its nifty.

My job really never stops surprising me. I gave my kindergarteners Native American symbols that they were to use to create a "picture story" for their art work. One child (who is notorious for behavior problems) turns to another and says, "Do you know how to draw a horse?" But she neglected to pronounce the "s". Think about that a second.... Yes, she said hore. The child she said it to look at me with huge eyes, and the potty mouthed child said it again.. "Do you know how to draw a hore?" ... So I walked over to the table, asking what was it she wanted to draw... once again "hore hore". I looked over at my board and realized a "horse" was drawn. I practiced saying horse with her with special emphasis on the "S". Then left the table thinking crisis was averted. A few moments later, I heard the ole 'hore' again when the little girl pointed to a heart on another child's paper. How the hell we went from 'hore' to heart I'll never know. So... we practiced saying heart and at this point I've decided that I'm no longer using anything else in our art that starts with an 'H'.
I nearly died laughing at the end of the day. Its not that she was trying to use bad language, that's just the way it kept coming out of her mouth. My roommate and I have our new inside joke. Think of song titles or slogans that use "heart" and replace it with my kindergartener's special word... Its mucho fun.
I left my ..... in San Francisco...
I ..... New York....
In another news, I'm patiently awaiting 2008. '07 has been a major bummer and 'my official' year from hell, so all I can hope for is a quiet upcoming new year.
New things: I'm getting braces in January, I'm on my fourth year at my job, and I'm nearly done paying off my car. Yay. So.. there's life in a nutshell.
