I'm pretty sure the Nyotalia hate is basically "ew vagina". Notice how no one ever bashes Mangary, or any of the other canon female Nyotalia male genderbends?
I'm also sure about that. :/ So far, it's just been all-around squeeing for the Nyotalia males. I kinda wonder why some of these fangirls hate themselves. I remember someone randomly saying that Nyotalia was a "bunch of Mary Sues", which struck me as odd. Is "Mary Sue" just the catch-all phrase for "female character(s) I don't like"?
Still, though, I noticed that some of those who do like female characters tend to hate Nyotalia. I'm really curious about that.
It really pisses me off, especially since all of the Nyotalia guys except Seychelles are just generic bishies =|. Even Mangary's lost his charm if Himaruya really is taking Lake Balaton away from him. And just. Ugh. The internalized misogyny is so gross. As is the misuse of "Mary Sue". It is possible for a series to have a canon character that is a Mary Sue, yeah, but a Mary Sue is by definition a self insert. I'm preeeetty sure Himaruya isn't modeling the Nyotalia girls after himself ='|. (also no, this does not make Japan a Mary Sue/Gary Stu, since Himaruya obviously doesn't intend for Kiku to be entirely modeled after him

Mangary doesn't have the flower anymore? :( But yes, much agreement. The sexism depresses me, and no matter how much I try to justify it, it does seem to all stem from misogyny and the hatred of anything with a vagina. And misused words. (And I agree about Japan.)
I get the feeling that is the reason, that Nyotalia gets more focus than the canon girls. Doesn't seem like a good reason to hate it, but I can understand the annoyance.
OH YES, THE IGIKO HATE. I think she looks nice. :( I love her pigtails. (They're actually a pretty common hairstyle for a tsundere character.) Did they want her to be a carbon copy of England? As you said, a lot of the characters aren't what we pictured them to be when we hear the premise of Hetalia. I remember someone saying they expected Italy to be some badass action guy. XD (Not that Italy can't be badass. I like the idea, and there's even the pic Himaruya drew of him.)

Yeah, Hungary and Belarus are pretty popular in fanwork, as is Taiwan and the others. I think a lot of people hate Nyotalia because they don't like genderbending. Which sucks, 'cause the Nyotalia characters are supposed to be different characters, not opposite sex clones.

You're right about not knowing about their full personalities (which is another reason I'm annoyed by the "Mary Sue" accusation). lol And about Prussia, since most Prussians didn't have white hair and red eyes.

Seriously. For that reason I find them fun. I want them to exist in the same universe as the canon cast, it'd be fun for the casts to mingle.
Well, I was the one scrolling through it, and it's also because this friend is somewhat obsessed with reminding us all that she's straight. But uhm. If pictures of Doitsuko by herself and fully clothed threaten your sexuality? Uhmmmm.

If they were simple genderbends, I would be "meh" about it, but the fact that they have different-ish pasts and personalities of their own make them more interesting. When I first heard they were different characters, ngl I was scared, thinking that they'd all be turned into goody-two-shoes, boy-crazy stereotypes. Then I heard about fem!Italy being tougher and her and fem!Romano being better fighters than the dude versions among also hearing that girl!Japan's got something for girl!America made me very happy. XD Props to Himaruya for that. (And nothing wrong with girly girls, just the thought that they'd ALL be turned into that is what scared me.)

Yeah, I would've liked them anyway tbh because I am shallow and like girls, but I am infinitely more interested due to them being different characters.
