Nope D: In that picture where Himaruya drew all the new male Nyotalia characters and Mangary, Lake Balaton was gone. I don't like him without it, ngl. And yeah, it really is just dumb slash fangirls being really dumb.
Yeah, I don't think it's fair at all. The way to fix it, canon girls fans? Write about the canon girls more! And really I don't even think that the Nyotalia girls even DO get more of the spotlight. Hungary is one of the more popular characters period, and you can find a lot of fic and art for most of the girls. For all the love Nyotalia gets, it gets more hate I think. A lot of these fangirls just can't bear the idea of their favorite male characters having a female version =|. Hell, even one of my close friends was whining when she and another friend of mine were going through my Germany folder because I had Doitsuko pictures mixed in at the time. (I split my genderbends into their own subfolders now so I can find them easier)
I seriously love her pigtails, and her design in general is gorgeous. People usually whine about "baww generic tsundere", too, which also pisses me off because we don't even know her full personality. Cut the girl some slack already. I assure you she's closer to an actual English person than, say, Prussia or fem!Prussia is to an actual person of Prussian descent (or actual Prussian person if you time travel).

You're right about not knowing about their full personalities (which is another reason I'm annoyed by the "Mary Sue" accusation). lol And about Prussia, since most Prussians didn't have white hair and red eyes.

Seriously. For that reason I find them fun. I want them to exist in the same universe as the canon cast, it'd be fun for the casts to mingle.
Well, I was the one scrolling through it, and it's also because this friend is somewhat obsessed with reminding us all that she's straight. But uhm. If pictures of Doitsuko by herself and fully clothed threaten your sexuality? Uhmmmm.

If they were simple genderbends, I would be "meh" about it, but the fact that they have different-ish pasts and personalities of their own make them more interesting. When I first heard they were different characters, ngl I was scared, thinking that they'd all be turned into goody-two-shoes, boy-crazy stereotypes. Then I heard about fem!Italy being tougher and her and fem!Romano being better fighters than the dude versions among also hearing that girl!Japan's got something for girl!America made me very happy. XD Props to Himaruya for that. (And nothing wrong with girly girls, just the thought that they'd ALL be turned into that is what scared me.)
