COSPLAY CHALLENGE '09
ed posing for my journal entry! her side of the entry can be found on her
journal yes! on saturday ed and i headed down to the discovery centre for some awesome hetalia and khr action!
ok i admit it wasnt as awesome as
EOY last year, but it was really great seeing artists like
isxelle sana misaki and
lian. it was wonderful seeing lian again because she's super nice! and very lovely to talk to. <3333
isxelle was nice too, in a quiet (??) sort of way. she told us about the next con and all sorts of details! thank you!!
and thank you so much lian, isxelle and misaki for the sketches..! I WILL TREASURE THEM FOREVER. i'm sorry if appeared rude asking them?? OTLlll
i wanted to ask sana, but i don't think she was accepting. i felt really bad asking her after that. ):
OK SO PICTURES! <3
FANGOODS <333 yes that's a germany fan!! 8DD ed was lucky; she got the last italy one xD
and hetalia bookmarks from sana AWESOME STUFF. i was super excited to see hetalia goods!! these are stuff i will keep forever, along with the prints, and especially the sketches <33
though me and ed couldnt find the guy selling aph trading cards from the last time. *wanted to buy more character for my collection and FIND THE ELUSIVE UK CARD* ):
some pretty good cosplay outfits that were displayed.
my costumer!heart opened a bit (A BIT) and i was immensely excited to see sequins and all these sort of shiny/satin-ey/period outfits that look like the kind of thing acsian theatre would use xDD
i was impressed how that outfit from Sakura Taisen (the 4th outfit. my personal favourite///) made use of duct tape to make checkered patterns. that's innovation (and budget tailoring) for you XD
Ed's dream: to find her dream mecha/gundam cosplayers. as in the robots, not the pilots (I THINK YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE ED xD)
we couldnt find any at EOY but we found a gurren head making workshop here where this expert japanese cosplayer guy was teaching people how to make mecha heads. like, by doing it in front of them.
the finished product was quite awesome:
the organisor wore it for the lark of it xDD
[SWORD EQUIP GET!]
i actually liked the atmosphere. all that cheer from that finished helmet and how other people were like 'HERE TAKE THIS SWORD' and with all that awesomesauce poses xD
i kept thinking about
sealand at this point of time OTLlll
but still we didnt manage to see any mecha cosplays. just when we were about to leave we realized that the japanese cosplayer was going to cosplay, and on our way out we saw another mecha cosplay, yet to be mounted onto someone ): sorry ed..! *feels really bad for her*
there was actually another con happening somewhere else (ngee ann poly) and from what i heard from isxelle that one unexpectedly had a larger turnout. pooh to bad timing D8
but the con was still lovely. it had an idyllic feel to it and everyone there was pretty nice. <3
one last picture:
FOOD FOR THOUGHT WHEN CREATING SINGAPORE-TAN, HIDEKAZ SENSEI? XDD
