Rhodes rocks! (and you do look like a Rhodes student ^-^)
I won't give you any advice though, cos I was there 5 years ago and I have no idea if things (residences, etc) are still the same, but I'm sure that if you decide to go you'll have a great time :)
I was in Skidd (that's Stanley Kidd to the uninitiated, and yes, I've heard all the jokes ^-^) back when it was still a collection of mini-houses in Kimberley Hall. Now it's a hall on it's own, with (I think) it's own dininghall, so things have changed a lot there. It was great, I really loved it, and I was very glad to be there rather than in any other house, even if it was a bit of a slog up the hill. The best part was that it was co-ed (the only co-ed house at Rhodes), so I made some really great guy friends there as well as girl friends. There was a cool vibe there, altho somehow it got a reputation for being a bit 'common' - but that was obviously just from people who were jealous that they weren't in Skidd themselves ;)
Yeah, I think Skidd has been added to the new Nelson Mandela hall. I'm looking at Guy Butler there or Goldfields & De Beers at Kimberely hall. Botth are co-ed halls, which is great! Just want an academic house and not a sporting one!
