[Edgeworth, having missed the announcement due to having to deal with Daphne and Harley earlier and having been just dropped off by the aforementioned, walks in uncertainly and then hesitates, his wary expression edging towards anger and suspicion at the sight of Ratched. He sits in the last chair and glances over towards Reeve, towards Quatre, and towards Sasuke, nodding to each in turn, before fixing a glare back on the nurse.]

[So now the gang's all here. Reeve watches him intently, at first smiling until he sees the expression on his face. The confidence fades into worry; he leans forward slightly and silently mouths 'you OK?' at him, hopefully out of Ratched's visual range.]

[Edgeworth looks back to Reeve and says, not even bothering to lower his voice but still only scarcely audible over his grinding teeth:]

Quite fine. Merely tired of these absurd exercises.

[While he arches an eyebrow at that, Reeve isn't about to call Edgeworth's bluff in front of Ratched. So, instead, leaning behind the others and keeping his voice low:]

We all are. Just bear with it as best you can.

[Well, at least he's not moping anymore.]

Of course. After all, that's all we can do, isn't it? Bear with these utter humiliations?

[This is true. And that's a visible relief.]

For the moment.

[Yeah, it's for the better. Angryface Moodswing McCravatsworth, though, isn't a huge improvement. He turns and glares once more at Ratched.]

I grow quite weary of it.

[No, but anger is better than suicidal depression. And careful lest he facepalm over you too.]

Let's hope this goes smoothly and in a timely manner, then.

[have a cold, cold smile, Edgey-- not only are you already in her bad books, but you walked in late]

Mr. Edgeworth. It's a pleasure to have you finally join us.

[Edgeworth, naturally, doesn't even offer the flimsiest overtures towards false friendliness.]

Nurse Ratched. The blame for my tardiness lies solely with your colleagues; if you object to the wait, bring your complaints to them.

[Oh, that's all right, she'll just continue to smile at him as if he was being the friendliest of men]

Which colleagues might those be?

[So she smiles like a betch at the friendliest of men?]

Millbrook and Quinn.
