After everything, all the pain and all the hurt of the past weeks, it finally felt like something was going right.
Granted, it probably wasn't going right for long, Rosenhan couldn't be any different from St. Edelweiss....Could it? She wanted to hope, she wanted to believe that maybe....just maybe their collected luck had turned around. That they could all stay together, and figure this out, and go home. Though, really, she was willing to settle at the moment for everyone being alive.
Yuffie couldn't truly believe this was real. She'd died. She had. Everyone had. It was what she'd imagined being stuck in Midgar at meteor had to feel like. Pain and knowing no matter what you did...it didn't matter. None of it matter because you were still going to die and...She could remember the feeling of the heat and the smell and-Oh gaia we can't win this time there's no way we're dead dead dead like-
She shook her head, trying to get all of those thoughts and things out for right now. That wasn't her focus. Couldn't be. She had her friends back. Her family back. She was alive. She had to believe this. Whatever it was, it made as much sense as anything they'd been through...So it had to be true. It had to be.
Stepping out into the hall, she was surprised to find it just as clean as the rest of the place, and saw people starting to do the same as her, trying to look for loved ones and friends. After only a few seconds, she heard the tune that had been coming from the intercom, and a smile spread across her face so wide she thought it could split.
"JACK!" Yuffie called, waving frantically before taking off at a dead run and throwing her arms around him the second she could get him in reach. "Oh shiva I- Jack you're-" She could barely even say what she meant around the lump in her throat and the laughter that seemed to just come from sheer relief.
This was real.
