Life goes well and I...
...drumroll...
... actually gotten some acting work.
Now, it's not much but the Central Casting Agency I signed up with has a thing where I can call in every day to find jobs as an extra on film, TV, etc sets. So, last Tuesday I got to be on the show "Shark". That's the drama with James Woods for those who don't know. And, Thursday I was on "ER" as (irony) the pizza guy.
First
James Woods - known from his TV show "Shark" (where I saw him at a distance), "Vampires", "Hercules (voice of Hades), and "Ghosts Of Mississippi"
Tim Matheson - Known as Otter from "Animal House" and various other TV and film roles. Guest starring on "Shark" where I got to play a cameraman who tried to get in his car. Nice guy in real life.
Shane West - known to some (not me) from "A Walk To Remember" and on "ER". Saw him at a distance.
Goran Visnjic - known from "Practical Magic" and "ER" as Kovach. Saw him a bit more than the others and he seems very nice and professional.
Maura Tierney - known from "NewsRadio" and "ER". Also saw at a distance.
Mekhi Phifer - known from "O", "Dawn of The Dead" and (surprise) "ER" Saw at a distance"
Parminder Nagra - known from "Bend It Like Bekham" and (of course) "ER". Saw at a distance.
Scott Grimes - known from "Party Of Five" and "ER". Saw at a distance.
Linda Cardellini - known as Velma from the "Scooby Doo" movies and "ER" . Saw at a distance.
Troy Evans - character actor from "Article 99" "The Stand" and "ER". Seems really down to earth nice guy.
As far as the shoots went, it was really fun. On "Shark" I play a member of the press who is trying to interview a judge after his wife is killed. I spent 5 hours at a parking garage at LAX and was fed a great lunch of steak and lots of side dishes.
"ER" was filmed on the Warner Brothers Soundstage a block from my apartment. I was in the "emergency room set" as a pizza delivery guy who is waiting on the elevator.
I was there about 8 hours and was fed both breakfast and lunch.
The pay, while not great, is good and it's more fun than selling tables to people. I'll keep you posted as to when these shows will air and where to slow-mo your VCR tape to spot me. But, do not feel obligated to watch. I have no lines and am onscreen for maybe 10 seconds.
BUT...
I've wanted to be an actor in Hollywood since I was 8 or 9 and now (in some small but important way) I did it.

I got to listen to my friend tekfiend's internet radio show last night. Check it out at radioftw.com on Sunday's from 8-10 PM (CST). He plays hard rock , alternative, and some punk and even takes requests via AIM. He's trying to break the 20 listener mark next week. So, go tune in and rock out with tekfiend
