Warning: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Castor/Pollux
Characters: Pollux, Castor, Leda, Tyndareus, Zeus, Jason, Idas, Lynceus, Helen of Troy
Summary: My brother and I were born under different stars. I used to think this was just Mother’s euphemistic way of explaining that we bled different colors and slept different hours and were good at different things.
Castor and Pollux in space! Amazing retelling of the myth in a far future setting.

Characters: Persephone (Greek and Roman Mythology), Demeter (Greek and Roman Mythology), Zeus (Greek and Roman Mythology), Artemis (Greek and Roman Mythology), Hades (Greek and Roman Mythology)
Summary: Persephone walks into Hades willingly, Demeter is desolate, Artemis unforgiving, and Persephone has more power than she (or Zeus) realizes.
This is Persephone as she ought to be written - knowing and powerful. I loved the interactions between her and Artemis and the sense of a multi-faceted power struggle giving context to her choices.

Characters: Apollo (Greek and Roman Mythology), Dionysus (Greek and Roman Mythology), Artemis (Greek and Roman Mythology), Athena (Greek and Roman Mythology)
Summary: What's another four dead bodies in a city with Zeus as its unofficial king? Apollo just wants to be left alone with his poems and his latest broken heart. Unfortunately for him, Artemis has other ideas. Even more unfortunately, Athena's roped in a stranger to help him solve it. Apollo doesn't make the best first impression on Dionysus, but they've got bigger things to worry about as they race to catch the killer before he finds his next victim. As they pull the threads, a sordid history begins to unravel...
Yes, it's long, but it's worth the time, I promise. This is absolutely wonderful - funny and clever and engaging, with every character working perfectly in the new setting. Oh, and this Apollo, with his terrible poetry and his cluelessness and his loyalty to everyone he loves.

Famous Five - Enid BlytonRating: General Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: George Kirrin, Anne Kirrin, Timmy (Famous Five)
Summary: George's first term at school promises to be a tumultuous one.
George and Anne at school! I loved this George and her struggle to fit in, but what really made this for me was the way the writer showed Anne. It's so good to see her confidence and steadiness in this different environment.

Summary: Jack's dead, and Constable Bruin has his work cut out for him. The murder method is unusual, the victim's past is murky - and what about the mysterious object found in Jack's clenched hand...?
I would never have thought of having Baby Bear grow up to be a policeman, but this works so perfectly, from Bruin's persistence to his best friend Goldie, mostly reformed, to the cleverness of the actual crime. Charming and funny.
