Well if you know me, you know that right now I am supposed to be in class. Its 2:00pm and time for 18th Century Restoration Literature... my most dreaded class of the week lasting approximately 2 hours. I've been doing some thinking, and I think there are probably a lot of times that I get into those stressful binds, and I don't need to be stressed out and worried all the time. I don't need to feel guilty when I'm not in the practice room, or working on something. Yesterday I had a talk with my oboe teacher Anna, and that was basically what she wanted to get across to me, that when I am not in the practice room... stop practicing. No more humming the Vaughn Williams and the Saint Saens, and no Ipod with them right there at my finger tip. I need to leave work at home when I'm done with it and learn to relax a little bit more.
Skipping my dreaded english lit class may not have been what Anna had in mind, but its the second time I've ever skipped a class and I'm using the two hours to do my laundry, get my living space cleaned up and get to feeling a little more in control and relaxed about my life at DePauw.
I have so many things to be happy about and thankful for on a daily basis that there shouldn't be any room for stress or worries, and especially anything unhappy.
-I have a great family who I love and miss a lot, (they will be here this weekend for the Monon Bell game!)
-I have a house full of sisters who are awesome and always support me at the drop of a hat
-I have a boyfriend who loves and cares about me more than anything, and is truly my best friend
-I have a talent and a passion that I never tire of (but obviously should now and then)
-I have a full life ahead of me and I can live it however I want to...
So, this week its my goal to get things done, but to also live in the moment and have a good time enjoying the people and things around me...
On another note, Christmas is now 48 days away. My favorite time of year is so close I can't believe it is already on its way... Thanksgiving break is in only two weeks!
