Ovenchars
I went to the East Coast. I stayed in Annie's apartment in New York for a while while she was out of town visiting her boyfriend's hometown. Ed and I went to see Leonard Cohen, who was phenomenal. The rest of the week was mild party prep, plus Akiva and I went to the Bourgois Pig, a bar, where I had a sazerac with cinnamon. It was great. Then Akiva, Ed, Chrisamaphone and I hosted our end of the world party in the Delancey basement. I dressed as Perstilence-as-Conquest; Wm managaed to convince the bartender to give us Campari after some conniving; Susannah and I fell over. Oter things occurred. Then I retired to a nearby hotel for the night because four in the morning.
The next day I managed to return to Annie's, sleep more, awaken, find Akiva, Chris and wm. We had dinner in midtown, and then failed to go to the Waldorf-Astoria bar, because it was closed. So we went back to Brooklyn and Wm and I went to the Bourgois Pig, while others slept.
The next day I trained to NJ to my parents‘ house. Hy sister was there. We hung out until Christmas, including going to the Princeton Museum to look at Cypriot things and maps. I also got dinner and beer with Granger. Christmas occurred. I got some presents, but not too many. I spent most of the day writing a small physics engine, but could not escape the errors inherent in Euler's method. The next day we saw Les Miserables, which was good; the leads were weak, but Fantine (Hathaway), Eponine and Marius were great. The next day I went to New York with my family; we went to the Frick museum and the Highline.
The next day I travelled to Boston to begin CTY Reunion #many. I rearranged my train tickets to hang out with Maggie on the train, which was beyond delightful. Up arrival, I managed to meet up with people at a taqueria (hahaha) and then hung out at Lusann's. Then Karen and I went to her house and waited until Lee showed up to sleep.
This was GrownUpReunion, which meant we ate enough, drank enough and slept reasonably. I stayed with Karen, which was nice.
The next day Karen, Lee and I ate breakfast. Then I bought boots, necessarily. Then we met other people at the Boston Museum of Science for fantastic. At this point I had become rather sick, so I went to Lusann's and hung out until others, who had gone ice skating and champange-buying, returned. Plausibly at this poit we went a bar.
Actually, I am somewhat confused about when museuming happened, and what happend on NYE day. ANyone?
Then was NYE. Lusann had a party, and people showed up. I invited Akiva, but most people left and it turned into a Passionfruit, of all things. Akiva arrived when I was toasting, so I got to announce him, which was great. Then the year ended and began.
We went to the same bar postmidnight, and it was great. Then I retired to sleep.
New Years Day, I had a pancake at Lisa's for breakfast. I met Akiva and Gwillen for lunch. Gwillen left, and Akiva and I met Karen and Lee for second lunch. Then Lee left, and Akiva, Karen and I bought tickets for Django Unchained and ate dinner. I was very full.
Django Unchained was complicated. Easily the most distressing Tarantino movie I've seen. Consider strongly before watching.
Then sleep.
The next day I ate breakfast with Akiva, briefly saw Greg Price of CMU, and then left and flew to SF.
On the plane I watched Taken 2 (a significantly solider film than Taken, but not "good") , The Campaign (ugh), several episodes of animated Batman (Hells yes) and some of Wargames (ditto).
Last weekend, Jensen moved here. She stayed on my couch, and we hung out for three days while her friends&relations helped her move. Then, she, Kate and I walked around a bunch.
Since returning, I've also dined with Kat, drunk with 8; dined with Kempy&Grandmother, Chris, Jess, Zoe, Brewer; went dancing at Death Guild with Kate.
Yesterday Kate and I walked to the Richmond and back (~10mi) for Russian candy and meat.
