Last Sunday I had dinner with my sister before she left for the Arctic, which was nice.
Last Monday, KateK showed up, and I managed to finally meet up with her for lunch Thursday, and then we went to Thirsty Thursday. I saw her briefly again on Saturday, for lunch.
Gustavo was here last night and today. We went to lunch today, but most of the day he was fighting the Canadian consulate for a visa. Now he is gone back to Vancouver.
I have also had sushi with Karl and Cynthia, and Indian with Jacob and a couple other CSE people (Alex Jaffe, Ben Birnbaum). Amanda and Jonathan have been in my house, so I have seen them occasionally.
In between this, and taking up most of my time, I have been frantically working on POPL research+paper, but it looks like it has failed (the plan is the ESOP deadline next fall (Cyprus!)) due to lack of done and then lots of panicking because
I have also been preparing to leave. I have been cleaning a lot. I need to finish packing my backpack today, and then put that backpack inside a larger backpack with other stuff for for taking to my parents.
Late tomorrow night I fly to Newark and go to my parents' house. Saturday I go to NYC and Thursday I go to Amsterdam, and thence east and south.
