Deathly Hallows Part 2

Jul 13, 2011 13:15

I probably should have made this post when I got home, but I was too tired. Better late than never.

I saw a midnight screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 last night.

It was good, but as with every Harry Potter film, the first time I see it, I'm too distracted being disappointed by what was left out.

The parts I loved (with minimal spoilers) were: )

It was the same with Voldemort's death. What the heck was that?! That's not how it works. Also, Snape lives in that tree. Don't tell me he doesn't!!

Pfft, thank you for pointing out another issue I had... THE LACK OF TEDDY LUPIN! I mean seriously, he plays as big a role as Harry's kids! Heck, even bigger considering what happened to his parents! I just hope that they at least did have the scene where Remus announce the birth of his son and that it'd be in the deleted scenes reel.

Bellatrix's death wasn't as bad as Molly's line, which sounded more awesome in the book. I think if we had seen Bellatrix fight with Ginny a bit more, and Molly comes "swooping" in and said that line, there would have been more impact. So in the end, Bellatrix's death came in sudden and sort of anti-climatic.

I will forever remember Voldemort's ashes rising into the screen. XD Weird ending, but I guess it makes sense considering that he was getting incredibly worned and his existence weakened with each death of the hallows.

Oh my god, I know exactly what you mean about Teddy. I'm really hoping for that deleted scene as well, but somehow, I don't think they even filmed it :(
It's so stupid though! Why even have Remus mention his son after he's died, if we never even got to see his birth announced?

I really want to see Voldemort's death in 3D. I saw the film in 2D, so I didn't quite get the same experience when he died. I completely agree with you about Bellatrix's death. I was really expecting more, but, oh well.

Well, even if his birth wasn't announced, the least they could do was acknowledge Teddy's existence more in that ending. In the end, Teddy felt almost pointless.

Haha! Voldemort's death in 3D was just shocking for me because I never expected it. It's cool, I suppose, and it's definitely worth watching in 3D.
