I probably should have made this post when I got home, but I was too tired. Better late than never.
I saw a midnight screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 last night.
It was good, but as with every Harry Potter film, the first time I see it, I'm too distracted being disappointed by what was left out.
The parts I loved (with minimal spoilers) were:
The Prince's Tale: Oh man guys, wait till you see the creepy CGI on Alan Rickman's face.
The Battle of Hogwarts: ...and how!
Breaking into Gringotts Bank.
Ron and Hermione: Now, this actually surprised me. I've always been more or less indifferent to this pairing, but I have to say, when they get together in the film it is really quite adorable.
That one scene with Neville and Luna: I can't say anymore about this, but I loved it!
The parts I didn't like:
TONKS AND LUPIN! Oh my god, as a Tonks and Lupin fan, the films will ALWAYS disappoint me.
I heard on Mugglecast that the scene of Tonks in the trailer is just about her only scene alive. They were right :( She didn't even have any lines, and there was only one mention of Teddy Lupin. I really, REALLY wanted to see the scene where Lupin asks Harry to be Godfather at Shell cottage, but it was cut.
Voldemort's death: That's...not how it was in the book? What the hell?!
Bellatrix's death: It didn't quite have the same impact that it had in the book.
NO TEDDY LUPIN IN THE EPILOGUE! :(
So, that's it! Feel free to ask any questions in the comments.
