YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

So, I caught the Nintendo Direct live just now, and while there was some interesting stuff, including another brief peek at the upcoming Pokémon games and a nod to The Legend of Zelda's 30th anniversary, easily the best part was the announcement of the 3DS version of Super Mario Maker!

For those unfamiliar, Super Mario Maker is a game that was previously WiiU exclusive where users create their own Super Mario levels and put them online--with the userbase as large as it is, what you essentially have is a Mario game with infinite levels and user-made content that can range from the ridiculous to the amazingly impressive. I had been lamenting that it was only WiiU exclusive, but they hinted that if the demand was strong enough, they'd make a 3DS version, and lo, they did! It doesn't have all the content the WiiU version has due to hardware limitations, but it has 100 pre-installed courses and you can connect to a good portion of the WiiU courses already in existence online (not all of them, but with the insane amount of courses out there, you're still pretty much getting an infinite game).

The only downside is that 3DS users can't upload their courses online (instead, they can only share locally), but I'm not in this for making courses; I'm in it for the infinite levels, so I can definitely deal with it. It's releasing December 2. Eeeeee, I can't wait!
