I have a few more Rockapella posts! Some old pics of Sean (one with Elliott)
here and
here, and
this Carmen gifset from "Withdrawal Symptoms," all from the hilarious parody; I like how these ones turned out.
Also, I seem to be getting more and more into The Man from U.N.C.L.E. series day by day. No regrets, though; once I get back home, I'm going to buy a few eps from iTunes--definitely Darren McGavin's ep, as well as the eps with Shari Lewis and Victor Borge--both of whom I used to watch on PBS when I was younger, heh. Hopefully season 3 and 4 will be out on DVD at a sooner pace, but those eps will hopefully tide me over until then. And I will be watching season 1, of course... well most of it; I don't know if I'll want to watch the eps without Illya as I'm totally here for the friendship squee between him and Napoleon. We'll see. ...I just wish it aired on MeTV at a decent hour, and not at 2 in the morning. *headdesk* At any rate, I will likely be snapping up season 1 and 2 on DVD once 2 is released, so I can get them together.
...I find it amusing that I've seen both Robert Vaughn and David McCallum elsewhere without realizing it; I've seen more of Robert--he's showed up in a few things I've seen, like Bullitt (he shared screentime with Simon!) and Diagnosis Murder, but I did see David acting alongside Pat in Pat's episode of Colditz, where David was a regular--definitely have to rewatch that! I also need to see David as Professor Plum in the UK Clue game show--apparently, he was Plum in season 2, before Tom Baker, who took over the role from him in S3 (I've seen his eps; he plays a very amusing Plum, very similar to the one in the book series I grew up on, albeit not as absent-minded, but definitely just as kooky). What's also intriguing is that alongside David as Plum is Michael Jayston as Colonel Mustard--I know him better as the Valeyard, of course, so that'll be interesting.
(And speaking of Tom Baker, I just realized I have a whole bunch of Fourth Doctor eps on my DVR that I never got around to seeing, as well as a whole bunch of Benson eps that I've been recording while I was away. Ah well, maybe next vacation... Though I would like to finish "Logopolis"--Four's regeneration arc--as I was almost 3/4 through it--there was an amusing part where Four and Adric are trying to land the TARDIS in the ocean because the Master has been messing with her, and Four lands the TARDIS on the edge of a dock, missing the water by *that* much. LOL. Of course, the arc got darker fast, Four has nearly died once already, the Master's plan has gone up in smoke, and it's a foregone conclusion that Four's real death is nigh as they try desperately to fix the mess the Master made...)
...And, lastly, this will likely be the last post until I return home; I have one full day of vacation left, after which I will be traveling. Once I’m back home, which should be later in the week, I’ll be back to my regularly scheduled blogging (and writing) once the jet lag wears off. I'm hoping that the flight back still has the U.N.C.L.E. movie so I can rewatch it with a new appreciation for the characters--though the 60s versions still shine way above the movie versions.
