7. The character you have cosplayed that is most similar to you (if none that you have cosplayed, then one that you will cosplay)
Cain C. Hargreaves - Count Cain/GodChild
Of all the characters out there, I tend to identify with Cain the most. And yes of course I'm not a rich Victorian Era English boy and I don't have a personal butler or a creepy abusive father or even a secret basement full of poisons (but boy do I wish I did on that last one!). But its more his personality. Especially when I was still an angsty teenager. ... Ok so I'm kinda still an angsty adult but not as bad as I used to be. I think. XD Anywho. Its more that every time I read the manga, I just understand Cain perfectly and its kinda hard to explain but I just have always felt this connection. And I do get over-emotional and easily jealous like he does at times. However I'm nowhere as clever as Cain is, as much as I wish I was. But I do tend to share his somewhat depressing view of the world and share a similar sense of low self-esteem and yet still maintain a selfish attitude like he does. I'm just not as verbal with it as he is. We also share similar appearance. Well ok you can argue his hair is darker than mine but it really depends on what image you're looking at. Kaori Yuki has never been very consistent with her main characters' hair colors. XD; But I do have the same eye color as him which is actually one of the first reasons I ever started reading this manga. Because there are VERY few anime/manga characters with my eye color (green-brown hazel).
It also makes me sad that I realize I haven't cosplayed him really since 2007. Especially when I used to do at least one Cain costume a year. I wanted to do him again for Ota but plans for that have fallen through since the GodChild group is no longer happening. I might try for Dragon*Con or AUSA but don't know if I'll have time. T_T But I really love cosplaying him.
On the complete opposite side is also this guy...
Hanamura Yosuke - Persona 4
Very different from Cain but I guess this kinda shows how complex and strange I am. XD; This is a cosplay where I don't really have to "get into character". I just have to be myself, really. XD Because I'm awkward, I'm clumsy, and I can be a spazz at times. But I don't make stupid remarks as much as he does. At least not offensive ones like Yosuke tends to awkwardly state from time to time. But I do tend to share the tendency to say awkward/odd things when I'm nervous and don't know what to say. And while this is more a fandom thing, I also feel a slight connection to him with the fact I used to be a homophobe when I was a lot younger and was very awkward about that towards friends who came out to me. Granted in the actual game, the character he's being slightly offensive towards turns out to be straight/bi (depending on how you look at it, I consider him bi myself) and he kinda lays off of him later. But in fandom there are about a million fics playing on this whole thing as actually being real homophobia and in most cases is because he's gay himself. While there is no real evidence of this in the game, there is some suggestions that one can go off of. They are super obvious but everyone I've talked to who has played the game seems to have noticed them and suggested that they can see Yosuke as having at least a minor crush on Souji. And because he's super awkward, he doesn't know how to deal with it. Annnnd I've been there. I understand those feelings exactly which is why I connected with this character (which surprised me as I thought I'd connect more with Naoto).
