I seem to FAIL at LJ recently. When I did I stop updating so frequently?

Anyhoo... I picked up Princess Academy by Shannon Hale over the weekend as a possible gift to my niece for Easter--wanted to see if it was age-appropriate (she's 9). But it was a good read: nice characters, good world-building, and I'm sure I've heard the name "Shannon Hale" ( Read more... )

Re: the censoring fanfiction -- I may have heard wrong, but I thought they're merely removing it from the "Top 100 Interests" list, not actually censoring it. But I don't really understand the point of that at all. O.o Must look into it more, I guess.

Shannon Hale OWNS. I enjoyed Princess Academy, but Book of a Thousand Days and Enna Burning are fantastic. (Though EB is kind of a sequel to The Goose Girl, which is also good, so you should probably read that one first.)

And no, LJ isn't censoring fanfiction, just removing it from the lists of interests. Go figure.

Ah, I think I have heard of Goose Girl! I shall have to add that to my list of books to read....
