Actually, the first half of the day was pretty swell, but that's just too good a line to pass up for something like this.
Anyhoo, at work today we had some book units come in that I was told "must be out by the end of the day!!!11" so I said "fine" and sat down to do my job. Now for this part I was doing today, I needed to wait to do anything until I heard from our content editors. 4:00, when I usually leave passed, but it felt like we were getting things done and if I left before 5, hey that's fine. 5 o'clock comes and goes. I send off an email asking for an update and go to look at a different project with a coworker. That takes about 45 minutes and afterward, still no reply to my email, so I walk to the other side of the building to ask them in person. What do I find? Empty desks and shut down computers.
They left and didn't tell me. I'd been cooling my heels for an hour and a half, waiting for a directive on if I should do the things I was supposed to do to these files. I'm guessing that they decided it was okay for the unit not to go out because it sure as heck didn't get done by me.
So I go home irritated, but happy that all I had to do for dinner was reheat some meatloaf, bake a potato, a biscuit, and some broccoli--a fifteen minute job tops.
My potato ends up being bad. My biscuit gets a little too done on top, and my broccoli gets burned. On top of that, I'm completely out of milk--I meant to buy some on the way home from work but I was so irritated today that I forgot--so what I'll do for breakfast, I have no idea.
I should mention that at this point I wasn't mad, but more amused than anything. What else could go wrong?
LOL. The night is young, I guess. We well see!
